Story

Hickinbotham Oval is an Australian rules football oval in Noarlunga Downs, a southern suburb of Adelaide. It has been the home of South Australian National Football League club South Adelaide Football Club since 1995.After previously spending 111 years playing their home games at the Adelaide Oval which is ironically located on the northern side of the Adelaide city centre and the Torrens River, the Panthers decided to move to the southern suburb of Noarlunga in the early 1990s. The club had played two games at the Bice Oval in Christies Beach in 1992 and 1993 in order to gauge support in the area for the Panthers. The 1993 game saw some 8,000 fans crammed into the oval to see the Panthers take on local rivals Glenelg. That overwhelming community support was one of the determining factors in South Adelaide's decision to permanently move to Noarlunga, becoming a community based club for the first time in its then 119-year history.The Panthers clubrooms and administration offices, which had previously been located on South Road at St Marys, were also relocated to the Noarlunga Oval.

Visited for the first time recently to see my Roosters get toppled over by the Panthers. I wasn’t expecting the stadium to be so lovely! Firstly, I had no idea that you could drive your car all the way up to almost the fenceline! Definitely made the most of that! The radio commentary was fantastic, and it felt like going to a drive-in cinema. I will definitely have to return here with mates to watch the Panthers play against our favourite teams more often!
Large grass area , great for families. Country atmosphere with cars parked around oval. Public convienences need work,

Great friendly atmosphere and amazing staff members.
It's a very flat ground with lots of encumbrances along the side. Great if you can get a park along the boundary but otherwise hard to see. On the positive there's plenty of green space for chairs.
A good old fashioned footy ground. Excellent turf for the players. I has an angled mound around the oval which I assume is used for cars. Amenities were adequate- not outstanding.
They have done a good job upgrading this place. Good surface, good facilities for the players, love the country feel with cars parked around the boundary line.
Very good stadium and a excellent club house for meals. VERY friendly atmosphere and staff
Home of the panthers. Great oval excellent for families and friends. Can park car around oval or in front$5.around oval people bring picnic basket thru to bbqs. Plenty of food and beverage around ground aswell. Worth the travel.
Good viewing all facilities close convenient and clean
