Programs being offered are pretty good but the new Refurb was a real let down. Perhaps what was one persons idea of modern looks clinical with hospital type lighting. Seating hard and uninviting. Certainly doesnt feel like the kind of library you would want to while away the hours reading. Sadly lacking ambience.nThe new childrens section on the other hand is well done.
Great place to use computers there for information to be printed out. Very handy. Also, a great range of books there, too. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
The Hervey Bay Library is a nice and tranquil library. It has a men.and women's toilet. There is a kids corner. There are also lots of computer areas where you can borrow device or spots to use your own device. It's a great place to wind down and charge your devices while reading a book. They offer free wifi, paid printing, scanning it photocopying. They have 2 meeting rooms for privacy at a first come and first serve basis. Several seating areas. A captioned tv set on the news and bean bags to sit on as well. It is quite big and has severla kinds of books available to read and borrow as well as DVDs.
I do find everywhere I've lived I've always loved the library staff. Despite living here 5 years I don't really know them here but always found them very pleasant. Today they were extra awesome. I wanted to find a series but couldn't remember the author or books. I had bits of info plus explained what they were about. Then I left. They took it as a challenge & I got a phone call. They had it. Went back & they ordered in the ones I hadn't read. Plus helped with ordering other books earlier. One called Jo I think did the most but all 3 ladies were great.
Many thanks to the lovely librarian who helped me print my Vaccination Certificate on Friday morning. Was struck by the genuine helpfulness, the fact that I didn't need to be a member, and the price was a simple 20c. Will definitely visit this lovely library again!
