Did the loop which took about 1.5 hours. Lots to see and heaps of cute ducklings and cygnets. It’s a strict on leash area because of the wildlife but there’s also lots of cyclists and runners. Good amount of shade and sun. Saw some baggies for the dog but no water
Beautiful little trail around the river. Not too long. Biking will require a mountain bike for some parts if you plan to venture into the reserve.
You feel inside a marsh hundreds kilometres from the city. Almost fresh water. Hence, the environment, flora and fauna are different from that around Swan River. There is a car park and playground. However, poor playground is that one
Almost at the centre of perth. A perfect walking trail with 1000nds of birds life. Amazing place.
Am I In the city or at a nature reserve ?? Just 30 minutes from Scarbs, I started this most unusual hike. I walked clockwise around the reserve my opinion was the best way to do it . On my right was the beautiful and serene reserve and on my left was the busy of a main road which eventually gave way to upmarket suburbia. The paper bark trees and lake are jaw dropping. It’s really a great walk that took me 3h30 to do the 11 km hike The enjoyment one feels when fellow hikers nod their heads and give you a warm greeting made this a remarkable experience for me ‼‼‼‼‼‼
Every beautiful cycling path around the lake for families, 11km. Birds photo
Love it! A natural lake so close to the city. Walking paths well maintained, full of wild life and flora. Nearly 10kms of walking path around a natural lake.
Awesome place. So lucky to have an area like this so close to the CBD. Well worth the visit.
Beautiful walk, very natural and filled with wildlife. Many different types of birds and fish to be spotted, and snakeswho keep to themselves if you do. The bird watching hides are fun, my pups love having a peek out. Only downside is there is no public toilets, and for a 2+ hour loop trail it’s frustrating trying to keep hydrated. The other massive downside for me is some people ignore the many signs saying to keep your dogs on leash, letting them run freely into the water, after the poor wildlife/birds, into the tall grass and shrubs where I’ve spotted tiger snakes before and up to other on leash dogs. I understand wanting to let your dog run free, but people should take them to a space where it is permitted and won’t cause any harm.
Nice place for a walk, look out for the snakes tho
