The day surgery experience was 5 star, all of the staff were professional, caring , efficient. The hospital is in need of some cosmetic upgrades. A great team of medical staff, including the volunteers in foyer, feeling very grateful, thank you
Brilliant care when I recently visited emergency. Thank you to all the doctors & nurses. I greatfully appreciate your care & our wonderful free health system. Shame on those who complain, in many others countries you'd die with no care or have to mortgage your house to pay for it. Thank you again.
Nurses a little rude but given it was busy I hope that's the only reason why. Drs good and thorough. Ambulance need softer beds in vans as my bum was numb and back ended up being real sore after a 30 min trip. Then 15 min wait for a proper bed. No water for over 7 hrs. Even though it wasn't necessary to have none for anything. Little bit more patience is needed here.
Really disappointed, took my 15 year old with severe neck pain to the emergency room. Was there from 18:45 to 22:00. Triage nurse assisted and is great full for that but decided to take him to Noosa. Gympie hospital need to get their act together. If it was a splinter in the finger or ingrown toenail i can understand the wait but having a kid almost immobile you would think their will be a sense of emergency. Would recommend to travel further down the coast if care is needed. Disappointing that the level of care is worse than that of a third world country.
So far my experience has be abysmal. The level of care and professionalism leads a lot to be desired. The nurses need a good kick up the arsh as they go around being busy but doing nothing. Don’t mind telling u how busy they are .. I have been in taccacardia since 3 pm yesterday and these guys are going nothing. Not sure to get out here at 8 and go to another hospital. I think these guys may damage me further
I attended the Emergency Department at Gympie Hospital last Saturday and was So Impressed by the treatment I received. I ended up parking at the rear of the hospital and made my way through the complex, finding a nurse in a corridor who guided me right to the Emergency desk. Thankyou all involved. I was very impressed. Chris Mathers... Lowood QLD.
When i was admitted, I told them I was allergic to paracetamol. It was ignored and they wrote penicillin instead in my file along with paracetamol saying mild affects or something like that. Upon being admitted i had one guy insert the iv fluids under my skin and it had caused a massive bruise up my arm. It hurt bad and he didn't even realise and walked away and i had to tell him it was seriously hurting. He then needed to get an ultrasound machine to guide it so he didnt stuff up again. I had multiple nurses then give me paracetamol over the couple of days probably not even reading the file by the door and without me knowing. I was in with pneumonia and I then broke out in a blistery painful rash all over my body. That was ignored despite me asking for some relief cortisone cream and told they dont have any. I was put in the quarantine ward and had been given a private room until tests came back non contagious and sadly and older nurse made comments such as other people need this room more. I didn't ask to be there! I just wanted to be home. But unfortunately you knowni couldn't breathe for starters, my oxygen was seriously low and i had tachycardia and i was taken there by my gp! It made me feel so much worse and on top of that I was so uncomfortable and stingy and itchy from this rash starting to break out from the paracetamol i finally got one male nurse tell me he will get a Dr to come take a look. After listening to the women argue outside my door about what to do with me as someone else needs my room I was moved to the maternity ward. Dr didn't come until 2 days later to discharge me and still ignored what happened. It was pure negligence! I went home covered in bruises and a blistery rash on my stomach, back, neck and thighs that took 2 weeks to heal! Gympie hospital needs to take allergies more seriously and read the file properly by the door and not assume what the patient means! Assuming I meant penicillin when I indeed meant paracetamol I was glad to go home and next time I'm seriously unwell, i would rather push my luck and travel down south. I hope something like that never happens again to a person allergic to something fatal. This might be a small complaint to some but imagine if it was a fatal allergy
My stay in the hospital was very good the doctors exsplain in detail , the nursing staff are very caring and excellent and professional at there work the catering of meals is the best food I've had in any hospital I've stayed for me they rate 12 out of 10 ,well done guys
Fell on a wet step on the Wednesday and called an ambulance on Saturday. The paramedics were very professional and put me at ease straight away. When we arrived at the hospital the staff were absolutely brilliant. I could not fault any of the staff or the hospital, CTC scan and turned out I had fractured a vertebrae in my lower back. Home now and resting for the next 8 to 12 weeks.
Spent the night here with my grandson when he was unwell with croup. A very caring team of ambos, doctors and nurses making us feel at ease with a stressful situation.
