The lady at the cashier was cordial. I'm giving 5 star because customer service matters to me. She gave me a free perfume sample because I went back to leave the shopping basket at their designated spot. It's not about the free sample which is super tiny as they should be but it's about the kind gesture she showed : I hope they keep providing great customer service!
DO NOT buy opaque liquor if transiting in New Zealand. That is, Baileys, Campari, Scotch, Pink Gin etc . Heineman staff follow correct procedure by sealing the alcohol in a see through bag BUT new zealand Staff remove the alcohol to put it through security xray which it doesnt pass because of the opaque nature of the liquid and then they CONFISCATE it! Goodbye $$ Buy your dutyfree in New Zealand.
The service was excellent, unfortunately there is nothing duty free about the wine and spirit prices. It would have been cheaper to buy at any bottle shop in Sydney. Incidentally, upon arriving in Tokyo I found the same bottle of wine at one of Tokyo’s department stores for almost AUD $25.00 cheaper than Sydney airport duty free store. My advice is forget this store and buy your wine gift when you reach your destination.
The worst, no order. Staff at checkout just let people jump the line and don't say anything, be good if they had some competition. Staff training is needed, next time I just buy my duty-free in the country I arrive.
Despite most of the other reviews being of a somewhat disgruntled nature, I actually had a good shopping experience here. However, reading through the other reviews I can see that most were about the service at the perfume and alcohol shops, a place that I don't frequent. My shopping was at the JB HiFi shop where I received outstanding service.
Brought Hennessy VSOP Previle 1Ltr from Sydney Airport store for Aus$130. Danmurphys price for 750ml is Aus$96. There is no benefit of duty-free at Heinemann store. I will not shop there in future and also recommend every one to check the prices before purchasing from this store.
Paid $254 for a 750 ml bottle of Blue label only to find out that the 700 ml bottle is available at $220 to $230 in shops like Dan Murphy, Paul’s Liquor, Liquorland etc which works out cheaper than the one bought at the duty free last night. What DUTY FREE is this?????? RIP OFF
Large store with lots of wine variety. Nice for the sprits and wine lovers. Have sprits tasting area. Some staff are very nice and helpful but the cashier i met quite rude to me, i think she doubted why i need one bag for each of my four spirits bottles, finally she only admit one bag for 2 bottles. Once i quick responsed "huh?" instead of "pardon" for what she said that i didnt heard clearly, she showed a black poker face to customer, what a disappointment.
Thought at the time the service was great. Untill my return journey when at the international check point my product was taken away from me, their reasoning being I had not used it as I still had everthing in the duty free bag. This has left a sour tast inmy mouth If I had been tolled I had to use the product within 28 hrs i would have, I was saving the toner for when I got back home. Should have been reminded about picking up my duty free when I came back.
Good range, helpful friendly staff - bonus will be enjoying the single malt whiskey & a couple of others on our return.
