Wow. Heavenly Pies gives a true meaning to pizza. The thin crust is soft yet has a tender crunchiness. The shrimp adds a unique flavor to the pizza and the fresh leafy basil leaves a lasting taste to the taste buds. Handcrafted pizza at its best. April 6,2023 Thin crust pizza is delicious and digestible, not gummy. Delicious pizza. Great service. Clean restaurant.
Yoooooo This is a true hidden treasure in Southern Highlands. The cheese is dripping with straight from Italy fresh and everything. A little pricey, but I never regret buying from here. Fresh Italian ingredients with a hipster twist of crazy combinations on the dough. Plus wine and dessert options.... chefs kiss.
The pepperoni pizza for lunch was really good. The ingredients were fresh and high end. I returned that evening and had dinner. We had meatball with marinara sauce and polenta. The meatball was perfectly seasoned and as you would expect from the master of sauce Chef Pellegrini, marinara sauce was delicious. Roasted chicken was very flavorful and uniqueyou have to try it!. We also had philly cheese steak egg rolls. When you bite into it you can feel the crispy egg roll skin along with the rich flavor of the steak and cheese. Absolutely heavenly.
Surprisingly delicious. Sure they have wonderful pizza with a nice handmade dough and crispy crust, unique and delicious ingredients. But, they also have "to die for" pasta dishes, fresh ingredients, blended subtle flavors and old world recipes with a modern touch. Cuisine you would expect in an expensive high end restaurant. A 5 star must try.
I know PIZZA ... Here is an honest review and I'm Italian from NY and made Pizza there myself for many years ! For West Coast pizza it was good. The sauce was flavorful, the cheese I think was the best I've had here on the west coast, because it had the right amount of fat and therefore it wasn't oily ! Sweet sauce, not too salty and not a lot of black pepper. So, you can just add more to your liking. The dough was good too, however... it was too thin even for a thin slice pizza. If your going to make it that thin, make a bigger pie ! Although, I know you can't please everyone, but have an option of a square, Sicilian Pizza with thicker crust for the men who have a bigger appetite ! There was really no crust, which I enjoy. 2 slices are like eating 1 slice. So, the cost could add up in the end !! In my opinion, all the ingredients were better than most, however they should make a thicker crust to also support all those toppings or you will be handling a mess in your hands because the pizza doughweight is under-weight and has no support to hold the toppings. Surprisingly, the pizza did hold straight, when folded, but we also had no toppings. So, can't judge after toppings... Also the bottom of the pizza was a bit black, not from over cooking but dirty stones in the oven. - Not dirty from dirt, but actual using it ... My fingers were a bit black from handling the pizza ovens need to be cleaned more often, but instead of using just a brush... Use some seltzer water to lift up the black, burnt waste that is sitting on your blocks in the pizza oven and then scrub the blocks with the brush to lift everything up ! I'm glad to see they don't use screens, so the bottom cooks really well and is crispy ! Overall, I would go back. Just would like a thicker slice. I mentioned that to the owner, he told me ... Buy garlic bread ! Hey, I ordered pizza... "NOT CHEESE AND CRACKERS LUCIANO !" The owner and staff were nice, I had take out, so I don't know about the sit down service. I saw some of the low ratings, I didn't have that experience. Try the pizza, if you like it great go back and if not don't go back, simple ! Add a bit more crust, thicker slice and clean your ovens properly and I'd give 5 Stars ! Again, I will be back and thank you. Chow !
It's about time we have really good food in Southern Highlands. I am sick of the five Mexican restaurants, five pizza joints and five nail salons in Southern Highlands all within a one mile Square radius of Ace hardware. But I digress, you would think a James Beard award-winning Chef would know how to make chicken strips? And you would be right, they are light, fluffy, dipped in a light panko type breading Sprinkles with parsley and the fries have a nice dousing of sea salt and ranch dressing is almost perfect. I would say a little more garlic puree and make it more close to a aioli/Ranch using heavy mayo. I'm just nitpicking but the plain old pepperoni pizza is where it's at! It is Sublime borderline heavenly. Kudos you will make a lot of the trophy wives in Southern Highlands happy in addition to feeding the Mayweather entourage. For the rest of us the Pizza is a 10, but don't ever stop making stellar chicken strips! I am looking forward to coming back and having an authentic Gnocchi special, not pasta, but potato with a fresh garlic Parmigiano crema sce.
I love this place, food and wine is amazing, haven't found anything I didn't simply love!!!!! Irena is awesome!!! This place is truly a hidden gem in Southern highlands... highly recommend it to anyone, in the restaurant or takeout, always amazing
The Emiliana pizza is amazing! It is a must try as it has a thin crispy crust and is topped with prosciutto and arugula. Sooooo good.Food: 5/5
A hidden gem. Great pizza by far best In area plus the dinner menu is excellent and food is cooked perfect. James Beard winning chef runs and cooks
Small place with great pizza. The salad I had was also yummy. The pizza is thin crust. We will be back.
