We have been here 4 times and never had an issue but our most recent interaction with Donna will ensure we never return. Our original visit we were told a minimum of 4 people were required for a booking, by our 4th visit we were told the minimum was 6 so we had to wait to see if another group was going to book as we had only 5. This time around when booking, we were a group of 5 and were told the minimum was 10. Donna begrudgingly said she would open for 5 and would try get confirmation from another booking. We were made to feel like she was doing us a favour. I did end up increasing the booking to 7. Our booking was for tomorrow and here we are at 6.30pm and she has rung and cancelled due to the other group cancelling. She was very rude and accused us of lying when reminded about our original conversation and booking numbers. we were made to feel like we were causing her a great inconvenience by wanting to attend and support her small business. Well don’t worry Donna, we won’t put you out in the future as we will take our business elsewhere.
Amazing experience - Donna and Rob were lovely and very hospitable. Pizza was delicious!!
From the minute we arrived at this venue for my sisters wedding we were insulted and spoken to extremely rudely by the host, who promptly informed us that she doesn’t tolerate being told by customers what to do at all, the most appalling lack of hospitality I have ever experienced. The food and drinks were slow to come out, despite claiming they cater for vegans and dietary needs, I was rudely told that I should’ve brought my own cheese if I planned to eat. The pizzas came out one at a time and each of the 28 people in our group were served a single tiny slice of whichever pizza happened to come out, if you didn’t like certain toppings as in my case, you had to wait until eventually a pizza you do like comes out and then you get your mediocre sample sized slither. Pizzas were nothing worth writing home about, bases were extremely thin, a lot of the pizzas came with minimal topping, olive pizza, one kind of olive with cheese, not impressed. The margarita had parsley instead of basil which was disappointing and flavourless. After being rudely told to bring my own cheese after explaining I was lactose intolerant to Donna, I left the restaurant to calm down. When I returned inside there was a slice of sundried tomato pizza yep only one single topping on my plate which has gone cold, I was well aware that it was my fault it went cold and simply asked if it could please be heated for a few seconds. I was not complaining about it being cold I was simply making a request so I could eat it. Donna rudely attacked me verbally about it being my fault it’s cold which had absolutely nothing to do with the request is made. She stormed off into the kitchen which I happened to be sitting right in front of and I, as well as others heard every appalling word that came from the kitchen. The chefs attitude was even more foul than Donna’s, I was extremely appalled that they included a young staff member who was working his very first shift in this totally unprofessional and inappropriate discussion. Throughout dinner it was almost impossible to get service, I managed to get three of the smallest slices of pizza I’ve ever seen for my $35 a head “no one ever leaves here hungry” claimed Donna, well I certainly did. At one point Donna made an attempt to be a reasonable host but by this stage the damage was well and truly done. These people should not be in the hospitality industry.
Had the wonderful pleasure of attending my nephews wedding reception recently. Never heard of this venue before and was pleasantly surprised and impressed . We were warmly welcomed and even though it was fairly dark when we arrived the venue and garden were well lit and stunning . We had a Delicious banquet of pizzas that were a mix of traditional and unique flavours all made with their own home grown or local ingredients . I really appreciated their down to earth personalities and the care they took to make my nephew and his new wife’s wedding day special. Thankyou Donna and Rob for your hospitality and letting us enjoy your beautiful little piece of paradise
Extremely rude and abrupt owner and she had no care about anyone apart from herself. Extremely small servings with pizza, definitely not worth the money. Couldn't even ask for 1 drink unless she wrote it down because she was that hopeless and couldn't even remember a order of 1 drink. Would NOT recommend this place ever to anyone unless you want a Karen to deal with.
Wonderful afternoon celebrating my husbands 70th Birthday with family and friends! Pizza's were fabulous and such a variety! A BIG thank you to Donna and Robert for all your hard work to provide such a terrific experience ! We will be back and recommend the experience to others
Lovely place for a smaller gathering. Excellent variety of pizzas. Donna and Robert are great hosts. Was at a friends 70th a few days ago, wonderful service. Great views.
One star is being generous! My sister had heard good things so chose to have her 30th birthday lunch at Heard it on the grapevine. They were rude from the moment we stepped through the door, the owner seemed annoyed they had guests to look after & made a point of saying she hates wine tour groups. We all felt very uncomfortable. I was charged $50 cakage - I was told the cake would come out on a lovely glass mirror which did not happen, the cake was left in the box for us to cut ourselves, no plates or serviettes were offered. They ruined her afternoon with their terrible attitudes & lack of care factor. I’m not one to write reviews but please dont waste your money or your time here these people clearly don’t want business nor should they be in hospitality.
Such a super lovely experience coming here! Owners were the sweetest people and made me a delicious vegan pizza. Can't sing enough praises, highly recommend coming here yourself and enjoying the beautiful scenery and good food
What a wonderful afternoon we had for John's 70th birthday. Never heard of this venue before today but will certainly be going back. Views to die for. Food 11/10 and venue and atmosphere fantastic. Hosts could not do enough to make our visit enjoyable. Next time will certainly be fitting in an Expresso Martini or two!
