We love coming to this movie theater, perfect size to enjoy a movie evening with our little ones. Clean, quiet and staff is welcoming all the time, we even got a courtesy ticket because they realized the room was a bit chilly during a movie. Fresh pop corn is a plus. Say goodbye to overwhelming and stressing movie theaters!
a film festival I help run White Vulture Film Festival had their first ever live event last week with all screenings held for 2 full days on 2 screens at the Hawthorne Theater... this is the first festival I have ever attended, working or not, where there were no technical difficulties... not a single one. EVERY SINGLE FILMMAKER complimented the picture sound and of course the staff... we were handled by George, Joann and their time with courtesy attentiveness and nothing but respect for our project. it is my hope that for so long as WVFF endures, that we are capable of having it in this theater every year... fantastic service but still "local" enough to be completely approachable... the festival received many compliments... half of them should have been directed straight to George, Joann and the entire staff of the Hawthorne Theater. thank you!
My family has been nervous about going out in public since the pandemic, so going into an enclosed space for 2 hours was a long battle to overcome. When coming to this location we were met with Anthony who I believe was a manager of sorts. Not only was he a friendly source, but also made my family feel comfortable being there. He greeted us with a smile and it went such a long way- he truly was a blessing to an anxious family trying to return to normalcy. The venue itself was nostalgic in a post covid world, and my family loved it.
Great small local theater. Staff is friendly, a little outdated. Perfect if you're looking for a not overly crowded theater. Tickets were only $10, popcorn was fresh & as always, I grabbed myself a box of raisinettes. This used to be my go-to date night on a Tuesday, half price in the 90s. Get your calendars out and plan your next girls' night movie adventure. I'll meet you there!
The only positive was the friendliness of the staff. The theater was freezing. I informed a worker but it did not get fixed. The bathrooms were disgusting! The whole place is filthy. I like to support local but I doubt I'll be back.
There is something special about local, nostalgic theaters like this one. This one in particular I've gone to my entite life. Stop into Hawthorne, enjoy a movie with a cold drink and a snack and embrace a moment of simplicity. Thankful for this theater and love supporting it.
This place was small and looked very dirty. During the movie there were some teenagers being very loud and rude outside the door of the theater. Two guest had to get up during the movie to tell them to be quiet. There needs to be a little bit more attentiveness. I didn’t see one employee besides the young lady who sold me the tickets.
Family owned and operated by a great family that loves what they do. I choose this theatre for me and my kids because the prices are reasonable, the parking is safe, the bathrooms are close to the theatre’s so you don’t miss chunks of the movie when your kids inevitably have to go, and you don’t have to deal with other kids kicking your seat as there is plenty of seating. Oh and the popcorn is always fresh!!!! Bonus, we can do dinner & a movie and hit the arcade all next door. Family night out at the Hawthorne Theatre is the best!!

Great little old school nostalgic theatre. Sometimes the best times happen when you go back to good old fashion simple things. No bells or whistles here. Great movies, fresh popcorn, candy counter, cold drinks and super nice staff. I'd take this over the mall theatres any day!
