Good gym ! Has a decent size dry sauna and 1 indoor / 1 outdoor pool, indoor pool is pretty much all the kids lessons ect whilst the outdoor pool has lanes for you to use accord to your speed level. The gym is a decent size with spectate rooms for extra classes and a open area for floor workouts but I do think they could cut down on the amount of treadmills and in-turn double up on some of there gym machines as I’ve never seen all the treadmills in use and often wait to use the machines I desire. But that issue happens at most gyms, in general I would say the gym isn’t to busy and you’ll be able to have a workout with little wait times.
This place might have a few lifeguards keeping an eye out, but it’s still a right midden. The floors, toilets, and showers are filthy, and I never saw a soul clearing up the tumbleweeds of hair rolling about the place. They've got rotas outside the changing rooms claiming there's hourly inspections, but I reckon the cleaner is either invisible or on an extended tea break. More than half the lockers are busted, so folk have to leave their bags lying around and just hope some wee chancer doesn’t pinch them. If you’re looking to accessorise your feet with a lovely mix of old plasters, hair, and mysterious grime, then this is the place for you!
Having had poor gym experiences in the past I had not stepped foot in a gym in years, but I joined HALC in May last year and my experience has been brilliant, the staff are warm, friendly & knowledgeable. I started my fitness journey with a PT called James. He has helped me work on my strength, balance & all round fitness. I can’t recomend James more highly!nI also take part in 4 to 5 cycle classes a week, Peter’s cycle classes changed my attitude to cardio! Within 40-45min you have done a super fun work out & feel amazing!
Love this pool! Great for a swim and chill. After work it’s not crowded and mostly about lap swimming ‍. Clean and can’t beat the location near Coles, next to a park for a walk or snack and loads of restaurants. Car park next door is super handy too.
Good gym, great late night vibes and doesn't play shit music 95% of the time
