Amazing High Tea today at The Haven. Delicious morsels of food, decadent cocktails and exceptional service. Made for a wonderful afternoon. My daughter is vegetarian and they made it a genuine offering. Have been to other places and vegetarian high tea savoury options were disappointing Vegetarian options: Delicious high tea savoury options catering to vegetarian. Tasty and hearty. Thoughtful. Felt like the put equal effort into it.
Service was very lacking and let the experience down - having to chase up tea and water, coffee/tea offered an hour after sitting down 2 hour sitting. Staff seem under-trained. The food was great and very generous, lovely decor.
I booked to have the Chandon in Bloom high tea with my sister and mum. When we arrived our table wasn’t set, it looked like someone else was using the table before us. We sat down and the waitress set the table but the table wasn’t wiped down. I rang the previous day to confirm my sister and I had gluten free, though mine wasn’t ready and I had to wait while my family were served. Most of the food was lovely, I know it can be hard to find good gf bread, but it was really dry. The drinks were lovely, but my sister had to ask the waitstaff again for her coffee. With all the confusion I did get a free mocktail and my mum got a free champagne, which was very kind of them. It was a lovely experience but I did expect better service, it’s the little things that was a let down. They could of told us to wait two minutes while you get the table ready, and they could of served us altogether instead of having to ask two wait staff where my food was. The service is not up to standard for a four star lounge.
Had a wonderful Haven High Tea here. The food was delicious the staff attentive and friendly especially Justin. Personally I would prefer a higher ratio of savoury to sweet but it is High Tea which traditionally is sweet. The only thing was that we were sat where the sun shine through quite a lot.
I had high tea with two friends yesterday at Haven Lounge. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. The high tea ran from 2-4pm. At 2.20pm we were finally offered water and they asked if we would like a welcome drink. Only two of us had water and the third person had to ask three times for some. We were told it would be unlimited tea and coffee until 4pm, but that they wouldn’t take our tea order until the food arrived. The food came out around 2.45pm. The food was nice! However for the pregnancy option there were some questionable choices eg. Cold prawn patty and goats cheese. One of the tarts had a hair in it. Our tea arrived at 3.15pm. This leaves 45min to have our ‘unlimited tea’. It was very difficult to get the attention of a waitress so at 3.50pm we were asked if we wanted to place our last order for tea. We expected a lot more at a popular high tea destination. We won’t be returning.
Very disappointing. I booked the high tea 6 weeks in advance with the manager. Advised her that it was my 60th birthday and I was hosting a party of 18. I wanted it to be perfect. There was no prior communication with the Haven lounge my emails and calls unanswered. On the day the tables were not ready at 2pm staff were still wiping them down. My guest stood around whilst the staff hurriedly prepared the settings. All the champagne classes were half full! This was particularly noticed by all of us. Some coffee + tea orders never arrived had to retrieve staff to rectify this. There was a special order for a vegetarian serve a gluten free came out instead - that had to be rectified. Full cream latte served to a guest her ordered Almond milk due to allergies. No water refills I had to retrieve staff to bring water to the tables. Most of the guests only got one coffee or tea as there was no service. Once again I had to go to the bar to place orders. I voiced my concerns with the manager on the day he was very sympathic. I was just left feeling that the experience was nothing better than an afternoon at an up market Cafe. The food was delicious but the service and organization leading up to the day needs to be looked at. No worthy of a 4 star hotel. I have voiced my issues in writing to the Haven lounge and 2 weeks later there's been no explanation. My experience was extremely disappointing due to the lack of detail , slow service , no communication and glass half full champagne.
We went to the High tea on 4/12/22. The whole thing was a disappointment from being ignored when we arrived, to stale bread on the sandwich, stale brioche bun, half full glasses of the welcome drink and we had to ask for our coffees well after being served the food. The only saving grace was our waiter, Justin who apologised numerous times for the lack of service and the poor quality of the food. This was the worst high tea we have ever had and we will never go back.
Lovely area and service. Calming and peaceful! Love meeting up with friends here.
Food was good but shocking service. Nobody approached our table for beverage orders. Had to call them over to get any attention. They messed up dietary requirements, gave us a more expensive champagne than we ordered and did not update the number of people at our table when confirmed days before.
Great high tea experience. Came here for mother's Day. Very comfortable venue, super friendly staff.
