Every once in a while you feel like a hot dog, chips or pie and this is the place for such comfort food on that last minute whim. It ain't flash or glitzy but you can drive right up and hang in the carpark or take your order inside to the provided tables. Heaps of Pies to choose from and dogs can be piled up with toppings and it can get quite messy. Yet it's great local street food and perfect for a quick bite, drink or coffee. Definitely a place for pie lovers to try. Parking: Plenty spots but wasn't busy
Harry's, a renowned landmark in Sydney, serves delectable classic Aussie pies and sausage rolls of superior quality. There is limited seating available outside, offering picturesque water views. Nevertheless, for an exceptional dining experience, take a leisurely stroll to the Domain or the Royal Botanic Gardens and enjoy your meal amidst the serene surroundings.
Ordered a beef, bacon, and cheese pie, it looked really nice and the pastry was ok, the filling was really tasteless. Wouldn't buy a pie from here again based on that experience. The chips and gravy were very nice. I've heard such good things about Harry's. I would try dining in next time and trying other items on the menu.Recommended dishesGravy, Chips
All the poor ratings are true! Decided to try here after many years and boy what a disappointment! Initially went for the curry chicken but because the marking was not clear on the pies the guy at the counter actually open it up and check. It was not curry but still went with the chunky chicken since we were hungry. Then came the utter disappointment. The insides were burnt!! We then got a replacement chicken "roast" roll and the taste was AWFUL! In fact it was just white chicken with terrible gravy poured on it. It's very clear that the management doesn't want to improve the quality here. Wish this place shuts down soon!
Good place for a cheap quick bite - $21 for two pies, fries and one can of Pepsi. Steak and mushrooms pie was great - not many mushrooms to be honest, but steak was super tender.
Chris Hemsworth was here! This is an American diner style restaurant offering hot dogs, pies and rolls. Great for stopping by to grab a quick bite. Wheelchair accessibility: Small area outside offering accessible dining
I dont expect 5 star fine dining when stopping at harrys but the original has never disappointed ! Tempe tonight was the worst experience I have ever had I first ordered the beef tiger usually pretty good... I got what I can only describe as sinew, veins, fat and offcuts in gravy ! I then thought id put that aside and give them the benefit of the doubt and get a hotdog with cheese amd tomatoe sauce ... it was the sloppiest i have ever seen, the entire bun was covered in messy tomatoe sauce and freezing cold cheese sauce that was splitting .. so gross! I decide to risk it and take one bite into a stone cold hotdog that was a strange orange colour.. not the hotdog I've seen come out of Harry's before.. I left feeling sick and utterly disappointed. I don't go often but will probably never visit them again. I think the extended menu has meant they dropped their game on the origional menu and they failed miserably.
Best hot dog and tiger pie in Sydney and perhaps Australia.
Last time my husband picked up food, the person taking the order didn't take the whole order at once and made a mistake in the payment. That said, the food is always delicious, and we love the historic photos on the wall, it was also the first time we've had that issue with staff.
Wheelchair access is terrible! There is a single disabled parking spot with a speed hump running through the middle it and a steep short ramp in front of this spot leading on to the footpath. So, when you hoist the wheelchair down on to the speed hump you then have to leave the person in the wheelchair unattended with the brakes on in the middle of the carpark and move the vehicle back far enough to manoeuvre the wheelchair on to the ramp! Who is inspecting these disabled parking spots? Come on people, you can do better!
