Wonderful world of fruit and veg with a wider range and usually cheaper prices than the supermarkets. Also a nice range of gourmet foods and cheeses. Shopping experience is somewhat tarnished by blunt and officious male staff who seem convinced their customers are thieves. An overzealous security guard arrives just before closing, don't even think about trying to grab one purchase quickly just before closing. The all female checkout staff are surprisingly friendly considering they appear to be bullied by the male staff all day long.
What this Harris Farms has is good, but it certainly doesn't have the variety of additional products that some of the other stores have. One big thing that is missing is good breads and other bakery goods, especially since there are no good bakeries at the Edgecliff centre.. All the check-out staff are great, though.
Saturday shopping, trolley full of food we bought at Harris Markets. We pay, collect bags, put everything in the car, get home and discover one of their bags is missing. My husband drives back, shows receipt, explains exactly what items were in the bag and who served us. The manager spends a long time looking at videos and says he can see us but cannot tell if we left a bag behind. He says we should buy the items again. Too stupid for words! Who would drive all the way back to recoup $15 worth of fruit if the claim was not genuine?! We bought the stuff again - from Coles. After coming twice a week for years to Harris Market and spending thousands of dollars, we expected more courtesy, respect and common sense.
If you're looking for quality food at a good price, look no further. Conveniently located in a shopping complex close to the Edgecliff train & bus station, Harris FM has an extensive offer of fruit & vegs of all sorts. They have a bio/organic section, a bargain buckets one, cheeses and super yummy yoghurt too!, fruit juices, large selection of herbs on top of the usual array that every supermarket offers. All the products are well fresh and the staff is extremely helpful.
I don't know about other Harris Farm outlets but the Edgecliff store uses way to much plastic. They should bring in a policy of bring your own bag similar to Cole's and Liquorland etc. They're certainty not environmentally minded at their Edgecliff store.
Love coming to this Harris Farm. They cut the coconuts for you and the layout is super fun to walk around although i always end up buying items i didn't need. The produce always looks and tastes fresh and the staff are lovely when you check out.
I usually love shopping at Harris market over the other major supermarkets, but unfortunately my experience at Edgecliff was not the usual friendly experience. They were rude and was told they didnt except the barcode for 5% discount on fruit and veg.
Sick to death of being sold unripe stone fruit that dont ripen and are told to stew them, Pomegrates that are not ripe No, they dont ripen of the bush, "New Season" apples with dried out stems, and potatoes that are soggy. I could go on but that was my last shop. Find me now down Bondi road or even Woollies
I returned a box of sweet delights tomatoes my second box this last week first time I had about 6 mouldy tomatoes no hassles exchange was easy also I had my docket second time I had my docket also.... the tall AUSTRALIAN guy was a pain and rude this has never happened before HE said ......well it had and I told him about the earlier box I don't think he was interested and also said where was the rest of the tomatoes the box was about 3/4 full... .in the bin I told him I aways shop at Edgecliff because it is close ..every thing else is ok and your staff there wonderful I did not like the attitude of thIs person Thank You Maggie Langley
Small Harris Farm, easy access and little wait to purchase. Not up to the standards of the other stores like Bondi Junction though.
