One of a few good Chinese joint in the local area. Its cuisine is mostly Cantonese style cooking. Situated inside the Redfern RSL club, its very well priced and has a lot of variety dishes you can order. Lunch meal is mostly $10.80 for most rice with protein, while noodle meal are a bit more. Nice environment, quiet and friendly staff. Since its a RSL, you need to fetch your own water or other beverages from the bar as they don't sell drinks here.
Went again recently and standard seem to have dropped. Service was very slow and took a while to come out. What shocked me with my recent meal was I ordered a curried beef which is usually really good. Instead of cooked curried potatoes, vegetables and beef it came poured over hot potato chips not exactly appetising. All the other food we ordered tasted quite bland. It's a shame as it was really good so probably wont be returning.
Great Chinese food in a bright “club” environment. We have now been three times and never disappointed when it comes to the food. The husband and wife team serve up a great spread of Chinese and Asian dishes. Go a group to sample more, as portions are big. Our favourites include the salt and pepper squid, the Mongolian Lamb, the Chinese broccoli and the Rendang Chicken.
The chef is one of the most experienced you can find in Sydney. He is very focused on what he cooks. His moto is putting your heart into what you cook so that the food will taste nice and enjoyable. The kitchen is clean and transparent one can see what is going on in the kitchen. The facility is well lit, nice and clean, creating an enjoyable eating and feasting session. Give yourself a try if you like Chinese cooking food. You would not be disappointed.
Food taste good there, both for Asian and Australian people. Price is a little high, No Air-Con in the Summer. Must have dish is the Shan-dong Chicken. Sweet and Sour souse with boneless crispy deep fried chicken.
Fantastic food, good variety and authentic. With notice they can do some quite nice dishes like pippies, crabs and some amazing seafood dishes. Recommended. Inside a pub also so a few beers hit the spot too.
Fantastic service and great fresh ingredients. They have an extensive menu and cheap alcoholic drinks can be purchased at the RSL on the same site. A quality redfern staple.
Worst Customer Service Ever. The counter Lady small old lady- Asian background simply doesn't like customer from Indian Background and will behave rudely to them. Rest of the staff are good but looks like they have to follow her
Delicious meals, can tell they cook things really fresh and not too oily. Great quality food. Highly recommend
Cash only. Food is pretty bad - too salty, probably a more westernised taste. Was empty when visited for lunch. Glass of water was only offered to a customer speaking chinese. Wouldn't go back.
