I recently had the pleasure of celebrating 12 years together with my Beautiful wife and we chose to treat ourselves to a lunch at Hapi Cafe and Restaurant in Dromana and we were not disappointed.nThe atmosphere was alive and bubbly, the service was prompt, professional and friendly the seating was comfortable I'm recovering from abdominal surgery and sitting on a comfortable ergonomic chair is essential to my dining experience and ergonomically great and best of all the food was fantastic and when I say fantastic it was 'to die for'. The tables were clean and had sugar, salt and pepper and a cute fake flower arrangement so my Hayfever wasn't tweaked at all with serviettes that were thick and big enough to cover my entire lap not rough when dabbing my lips and cleaning my beard.nWe ordered an open Chicken Souvlaki well worth the $29 it was served with a delicious fresh salad with tomato, cucumber, olives and feta that crumbled to perfection, crispy French fries, flat bread and a decent amount of Chicken breast that was marinated to perfection with a tasty tzatziki served on the side and some lemon wedges! It was heaven on a plate and it was a large serve.nWe also ordered four steamed prawn dumplings that came with a light soy dipping sauce also served on the side. Now these dumplings were fresh and they had the snap that fresh well cooked prawns have when the chef knows how to cook!nI also had a Lungo coffee that was just perfect, no bitterness and the perfect amount of Crema that gave me the caffeine hit I needed we also ordered an ice coffee that the staff changed to my wife's tastes no cream, add almond milk and extra ice cream, hold the ice cubes without hesitationnWe walked out of that beautiful cafe that also has a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu with big smiles and a great feeling in ourntummies!nThank you to Hapi Cafe, the Service staff, the Kitchen staff and the Chef, whom ever owns this business definitely knows their Hospitality like the back of their hand.n10 out of 10 we will be bringing the kids next time to enjoy this fantastic little gem!
Not ideal.nI spoke with the manager about the wine. She explained the menu I ordered was out of date. HUHnI ordered a local Chardonnay from Red Hill and received a very different wine from France nThinking we could resolve this matter, unfortunately it was not a priority.nnWhen ordering from the table we had to repeat our order more than three times and wondered what would arrive.nnThe meal was basic and okay.
I had high hopes for this coffee shop, but unfortunately, the service was a major letdown. The woman behind the counter was not only inattentive but also seemed genuinely annoyed when I asked a simple question about the menu. There was no effort to engage or be polite, which really soured the experience. While the food was okay, the chai latte terrible and the place itself is nice, the negative vibes from the interaction completely overshadowed the visit. I won’t be returning if the service stays like this.
Peking duck for lunch was a tempting offer and our first visit to this beachside cafe was a real treat! This specialty was a new innovation and required a days notice when booking. Owner Wendy was clearly an expert at serving this at the table in the traditional way and verdict? Outstanding!!nOverall ambience is excellent - including cosy fire on wintry days.nDinner menu also offers excellent variety but the peking duck will hopefully remain on offer . Easy parking across on the beachfront - we will certainly return yo sample other options
Tom Yum chicken salad was nice and fresh. However, service was very disappointing. Despite there being several waitresses standing around you have to get up and walk to a register every time you order instead of table service. The coffee was not good, very watery and weak. When we asked for the coffee to be remade, the rude grumpy lady who appeared to be the barista just through a third shot into the same coffee and said don’t forget to pay for it. Obviously the $0.50 and the attitude was worth more to her than losing a future customer and a negative Google review. Won’t be going back !
