A coffee shop that's at the bottom of an office building. They have a limited food menu that includes quite a few toast with different toppings options, toasted sandwiches and paninis. There's a small cabinet of sweets, pastries, and pies too. There's a decent amount of indoor seating and a few tables undercover outside. Service was friendly and quick. The place was pretty busy at 9am, I'm guessing mostly workers from the building getting their morning coffees. It had quietened down by 10am. I just got a flat white and fruit toast. Coffee was alright. The toast was quite nice, the fruit in the bread included dates, apricots and fig which was a nice change from just sultanas, two thick slices, and came already geneously buttered. There is a great little play area for kids with a cubby house and play kitchen equipped with pots and pans, and play food. There's also some books and toys that can be taken to your table. While the area is mostly fenced off there's a doorway that is just open, it would be great if a gate would be installed. The opening is right next to the toilets, so if you have a crawling kid they're always trying to escape through the doorway. With the toilet door opening outwards you just have to be really careful that the child isn't there for long or they could get squashed if the door suddenly opening. There is some paid parking out the front of the cafe. On socials the cafe says that there is also undercover parking. I drove around the small undercover parking lot and it seemed like most bays are reserved for building tenants, I didn't want to risk a fine so parked on the street.
Absolutely loved the share table lunch at Hampton and Maley. The decor and clean and relaxed. The dishes that came out were absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the flavours weren't too complex. Would definitely be back to try it again.
The most delicious breakfast I’ve had in a long time! The vegan avocado toast was exquisite,a generous amount of avocado, thick cashew nut butter and perfectly seasoned zucchini. Coconut cappuccino made with the best coconut milk, and a divine fresh juice. Sausage was cut up for my dog and on a separate plate which was lovely. My partner had the mushroom & eggs, which he loved. Friendly and warm service, clean and stylish decor. Excited to come back here again!
This is a Vic Park must try. On many levels. Firstly the food, this is an unusual but not weird menu. There are some taste sensations in there, lots to keep your taste buds busy. I do like the classic crab omelette & my partner is a fan of the black pudding dish. Importantly there are vego & vegan options too. When I emailed them with a vegan enquiry ahead of a visit they responded quickly with a copy of the menu. The service is very friendly and manages to be feel high end whilst being approachable and attentive. This place is getting busier now at weekends which is super for them but does mean there can be a short wait. The team handle this well though. Also once I’ve placed an order I have never waited long for food. You can tell the kitchen and front of house are very organised. Coffee is good and is strong. Juices and smoothies are all worth a try. Order the roast potatoes as a side dish - you won’t regret it.
Something to try and something you might like..who knows. Their combinations are me on a creative but placid day ‍ If you like black pudding then its your upbringing and this was my second try at it ever. I appreciated their dish, its still not my thing but got what I needed out of it. Look nothing bad about this place and I feel that them being so accommodating with todlers and families is a compromise for the long waiting times. Nonetheless its a good family catch up place for breakfast .
One the newest brunch available cafe in Victoria Park located just walking distance from John Hughes car dealership. It provides great and relaxing atmosphere, decent food, amazing coffee and juices S-A-W juice--juice is particularly my favourite. Plenty of parking space in front of restaurant too when the parking is quite limited in victoria park if you know what I mean. I will definitely try it in the near future.
Worth a visit to bottom end of Vic Park.... but only open for breakfast/brunch/lunch... high quality ingredients, creative menu combinations and plenty of variety to suit all tastes. **Update** Went back for a late Sunday Breakfast and had the Jasmine rice cream topped with fresh fruit, sorbet, seeds, grains and nuts - see photo for spectacular presentation and taste to match For those that are interested this is a hearty GF & Vegan option .. even if you aren't ...it is worth a try
First time here. Ordered a pancake with ice-cream and a crab omelette. Both were top class. The physical set up of the place looks cosy and child friendly, complete with toys, puzzles and story books for the young ones. Service was full of smiles and friendly. Loved my time here.
Great service, great coffee. But the food is pretty pricey without being really great, I've eaten here three times and whilst I always get excited by the descriptions, the flavours never quite live up to it. Either they are a collection of competing flavours like the anchovy, jamon, roast capsicum and manchego on pretty tough toast, which feels like somebody threw the back of my fridges glamour section at me or like the chicken confit sandwhich, are a fairly unexciting mix of chicken, chutney and cheese. It's early days and I'm sure I'll be tempted back in, hopefully this is just finding their stride in the kitchen.
I ordered the pork belly dish. It wasn’t very impressive as the pork belly was very soggy. The hollandaise sauce on the side wasn’t great either. The potatoes were the saving grace. I would probably not order this dish again though. The atmosphere of the place, however, is really nice. It’s nice and spacious and the decor is simple. It’s a nice place to sit with a good book and sip coffee on a rainy day.
