Great range, friendly staff, fresh seafood we watched the scallops being shucked!
WOW!nDecided to give these guys a go for lunch today and I'm very impressed, as were my colleagues.nPricing is better than any where else and the portions are perfect.nThe piece of Blue I got was the size I expected and then I picked it up. I was not expecting such a thick cut for $8!nEven cold the fish and chips taste great.nnCertainly a new favourite.nnKeep up the great work guys and I'll be seeing you again soon!nnHad to drop down the rating.nn2nd time I got food from here the staff attitudes were less than they should be in a public setting. I understand they were under the pump but that doesn't excuse the fact.nnCan't get through on the phone first couple rings either.nI call ahead knowing how busy they can be but after 7 calls it's off to their competitor on Invermay Rd!
The fish was lovely, nice big thick piece with thin crispy batter.nnThe scallop was a bit bland and tougher than I expectednnThe potato cakes were utterly disappointing.nnI expected a better quality as the place sells the image of delivering high quality foods but seems they have gone cheap and lazy with the potato cakes which was disappointing as the fish was next level.
Stopped by with my partner and they had fresh hot scallops pie which was delicious. A must try , pie had good amount of scallops, curry sauce can be better though . Will definitely will try again . They have fresh varieties of seafood . We brought fresh scallops and cooked crayfish legs which was yummy.
We ordered fish n chips tonight flathead battered they were delicious . The flathead was fresh cooked to perfection and a good serve of fresh wonderful chips . The absolute best fish n chips I’ve had in decades .nWe’ve purchased fresh fish from Hammond’s before but being down south the opportunity to visit this wonderful store isn’t easy , so when up launie it’s Hammond’s seafood .nBesides some beautiful scallops we spotted the scallops pie , these guys are huge and at $10 each , 4 went into our package . These babies , I believe will receive “ legend status “ .nGreat shop , easy parking , friendly lovely staff and the most awesome fresh fish and now the greatest fish n chips in Tassie .nPls pls open a shop down south
