Hair On Oxley is a fabulous new hairdressing salon located in Brisbane's burgeoning suburb of Oxley, offering a full range of hair services and facial waxing to women, men & children.

Our senior hairdressers Lauren and Rachel are expert and experienced in their trade, accommodating every client as a VIP in our very friendly, happy and relaxed boutique salon. Amy is our very friendly and efficient apprentice and Debbie, the salon owner, completes the team.

We pride ourselves on the extra little touches we provide as part of our customer service including a complimentary tea of the day, espresso coffee and/or wine (your choice), as well as spoiling you with a few little extra special treats including hot towel neck massage for our male clientelle! Hair On Oxley stock a fabulous salon only, Australian made & owned range of product called "Silk...Oil of Morrocco" which we use in salon and have available for sale. The "Silk..." range is divine! Your hair will never feel or smell better once you use "Silk...". That's a promise!

I had my first appointment here a couple of months ago now and I really had high hopes for this place based on the many positive reviews but have since discovered this place is an absolute sham. As a new client, you are required to have a consultation before even booking your appointment and pay a 30% deposit. I was told the 30% was based on their highest price estimate and would definitely not have to pay more than what was quoted. Of course, that wasn't true...  My appointment seemed to go well and despite the highlights looking much more subtle than my reference photos, I decided it was acceptable. Unfortunately, the stylist did not show me the back at any point big red flag but took photos for their social media account which were never posted I wonder why.  Once I got home and looked closer at my hair in different lighting, I realised that they didn't even manage to cover up my regrowth. I also checked my reference photo again and realised how completely off my colour was. It was also at this point that I realised I was charged significantly more than what I was originally quoted but was not given a price breakdown. I then called up the salon and was met with defensiveness and cluelessness but was ultimately told I could come back and get my hair fixed.  When I went back, I was told they would only fix the regrowth and that the highlights were what I asked for and that it would take several sessions to get the colour I want. This was in stark contrast to what I was told at my consultation but I decided it wasn't worth the drama and settled for the regrowth touchup.  I had completely forgotten about all of this until today when I see a photo of the back of my head for the first time which revealed the absolute botch job in it's full glory. Horrible patchy and uneven highlights that are mostly clumped to one side of my head. Can't believe I payed over $340 for this mess.  Edit in response to the owner: My issue with the initial consult was not the 30% deposit, it is the misquoting and over promising. I was clear in that consult that I had a lot of colour build up, had problems in the past getting highlights and asked directly if what I wanted was achievable and I was told it was “very achievable”. I also did not state a budget nor was I given multiple options. I was happy to pay what it cost as I was assured it was achievable despite the colour build up.  I was also not shown the back of my hair where the highlights are clearly very uneven.  The highlights are on the bottom layer of my hair and this was never shown to me. As you can see from the photo, there is a large clump of highlights on one side and almost nothing on the other. This is not something that just randomly appears after 3 months, it was like this from the beginning. As I already stated, I raised these issues in my second visit and was told that it was what I asked for and it’s my fault for not knowing I had previously had a demi and not a semi permanent colour. I decided not make a drama at the time because I didn’t realise the extent of the unevennesses and I chose to give you the benefit of the doubt. Having now realised the extent of the problem despite already going back to try and get it rectified, I have to speak up.

I don't even have the words to describe how much I loved this place. AH-MAZE-ING. All three staff are just lovely, and very skilled!! Thank you so much for the colour  I will be back in no time

Definitely recommend this place! I was fortunate enough to just walk in off the street with a hair crisis! My hairdresser elsewhere had booked me in on the wrong day when a specific told them I needed my hair done in box braids for a festival only to show up at my appointment to them saying they booked me in the day before, I was literally crying they wouldn'teven fit me in, and ive been a loyal customerfor years. I walked into hair on oxley  just to see on a whimm and asked if they knew how to do box braids and the lovely ladies there said they could, I asked if they could do my hair today before 12pm and they went above and beyond to shift appointments andfit me in an hour later! I was soooo happy! I can tell you now my other hairdresser won't be getting my business anymore! Now I'll be coming here instead! Thankyou so much ladies ! You made my day.

From the second I walked in I felt welcomed and comfortable. The ladies there were knowledgeable and friendly.  Karen did my hair thoroughly and matched it perfectly. I'm extremely happy with the results.  :

Absolutely the worst haircut I have ever had. And when I contacted this service to provide feedback Amanda denied she gave me a 'bad' haircut. I went there as it advertised as a short hair specialist. This haircut was uneven, not blended and extremely expensive for a clipper cut with no blowdry  for $75. I now have to wait for the 'holes' to grow out from the clippering so it can be blended. The shape is so masculine...even my teenage son commented on how bad the cut looked! Definitely would not recommend for short haircuts! Had to give it one star so I could post this comment...would give it minus!Service:&nbsp;Hairstyling
