I've been to Gypsy Creek Winery twice lately. The food has been amazing, the staff are very friendly and so helpful. So many vegetarian and vegan options too. So peaceful to enjoy the beautiful tapas. Potato pizza was one of the nicest pizzas I have ever had. Everything I've eaten on both occasions was worth raving about. We will be back on a regular basis.
The food was amazing, the service was great, and the live jazz band was very entertaining. Prices aren't crazy and the house sweet wine "Alexis" was really nice even for someone who isn't into wine. Highly recommended, definitely going again. If you want to get out of the city and have a nice meal at a warm friendly country winery this is the place to go.
Really pleasant staff and venue. Tapas excellent tapas: prawn, calamari, pork belly to die for. Excellent wines. Quality way above what you'd expect out in the sticks. Wouldn't have minded some soda water or sparkling min water on the drinks menu. Lots of amazing deserts not listed on website.
Wow! The hospitality, service, food, accommodation and even the weather were all amazing! We came here 18 months ago and have talked about it ever since and can't believe we waited so long to come back again. Mary and Sam are the perfect hosts! The sparkling "Pearl" was a lovely drop to start our meal - I'll be taking a few bottles home, and the baked whole Brie with crusty bread, sundried tomatoes and olives - a house speciality, alone is worth a 3 hour drive to have again! Mains, dessert and some of their 2005 International bronze medal Cabernet Sauvignon were all excellent. The accommodation is just a little separate from the restaurant, so perfect for a restful night's sleep in a gorgeous room, and how good is a shower with a big shower rose and great water pressure! Breakfast on the deck now, and after we walk that off, I think we'll stay for some wood fired pizza for lunch unless I have the Brie again..... before we head home. Highly recommended!! Lauren Knight
If you like retreat, wild life, enjoy the rustic but very clean place, it is the best choice , and only 1.2Hour driving from Melbourne city
This is family run winery restaurant that has good food - the wood fired pizzas are great - wines are very good Rustic atmosphere - nice way to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon
Unfortunately a terrible Christmas Day experience...had been looking forward to the day for several months....the experience was honestly similar to being in a 'fawlty towers' episode...total chaos on the floor...one poor waitress and I think Sam out front...while entree was o.k mains were less than average with meat and turkey disportionate to 1 piece of carrot, 1/2 a potato, 1 tiny piece if pumpkin and 4 beans...This was and served with the entree clutter still surrounding us...main dishes were eventually half removed...we left without dessert as the wait was simply too long....soooo disappointed
Tasted their Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon 2006. They were fantastic. Absolutely loved it.
Not open! We found it out the hard way! They haven’t updated their website. New owners. Wouldn’t recommend going anytime soon as it seems closed for a while
Fabulous food,, beautiful to wake up to ...
