Well equipped and maintained station, bike parking is not under cover though.
For a daily commute, Gymea station is almost perfect. Coming down the stairs from the limited concourse, complete with mini shop to purchase drinks, books and the occasional newspaper you're situated right in the middle of the platform, and can go in either direction depending on your preference for seating once the train does arrive.nnThe trees and greenery on the platform is a nice touch, to remind you that you're still in suburbia.nnBuckle up, hold onto your belongings and loved ones on a weekend night however, as The Vinyl Room see my review and Gymea Hotel are both 50m away which causes Gymea station to turn into the Shires wild west, due to alcohol and pinga fuelled 20-somethings flooding the premises.nnIf you keep to yourself and wander down the far ends of the platform, you'll be right and end your night with your phone, wallet and dignity intact.nnOnly thing keeping this banger of a station from being more than a 4/5 is the high possibility of a drunken melee on a Friday and Saturday evening.
The Station is very clean and its so relax to wait for your train but every time i come early morning for my work the toilet always close, maybe someone there, waited 10 mins because i very need it but no one come out so i decided to travel to different station to use one. Working early morning coming in western part of sydney to gymea asking for open toilet is not a big thing to ask? by the way its happen to me today and last week.
Handy to all transport links, good parking and a host of retail shops & coffee close by. The greenest tree-lined station on the Cronulla Branch line. Always neat & tidy. Trains every 15-minutes throughout the day.
Great station. Greenest in the shire and one of the greenest in Sydney. Good amenities and trains every 15 minutes.
