As a frequent GYG customer, this store might be the worst one I've been to. There's always something wrong with the order, sometimes there's only two pieces of chicken, or the sour cream being the same consistency as the water. However, the most recent burrito bowl I had ordered had me appalled. Not only did it come with the usual water-like sour cream, but the entire guacamole that was added with additional cost had it's black string fibre throughout. Despicable quality check, had given this store too many chances and will not be coming back and I advise others to do the same if they are sick of being disappointed. Attached are reference photos.
I usually come to the Guzman y Gomez in Southport Village because it’s the closest one to my place — but honestly, this location is consistently disappointing.nnToday I ordered a Chicken Caesar Burrito with extra guacamole, and once again, they forgot my guacamole. This isn’t the first time; it happens almost every single time I come here. Every other GYG gets my order right, but this one always seems to miss something — an ingredient, an item, or part of the order.nnIt’s not just me either; everyone I live with has had the same experience at this location, and now nobody likes eating here because we never receive exactly what we paid for.nnWhen I mentioned it, the only “solution” they offered was to give me a small side of guacamole, but that’s not the same. I didn’t pay for guacamole on the side — I paid for it inside my burrito.nnReally disappointing service, especially when this issue keeps happening.
We waited 15 minutes for our food, even though it wasn’t busy. My partner had to get back to work, and we just wanted to quickly grab some GYG for lunch. The girl handing out orders came across quite rude to both customers and staff, and didn’t seem to care that we were in a rush. We noticed multiple orders after ours being called out before we got ours, which didn’t make sense. On top of that, the sauces had barely anything in them – for $1 extra, that feels really stingy. Overall, we weren’t happy with the attitude from the worker or how long it took. She didn’t even apologise for the wait or acknowledge it at all.
Last Thursday 23rd October I ordered my usual beef brisket burrito from the drive through at Queen Street Village Southport, which I get twice a week. When I returned home I found there was a lot of rice in the end I started eating from. I continued thinking most of the other filling must be lower down but I found there was very, very little beef and very, very little tomato mix. I called to notify them and was told they had new staff on that must have got it wrong. No offer of replacement or refund was given. I popped into the outlet last night to speak to a manager and after waiting for some time to be served, I spoke to who looked like the individual in charge. I informed him of my concern and showed him the photo attached. He ended up reluctantly agreeing to giving me a replacement after he told me that I “need to understand that there is 100g of meat” in the burrito. I said there would have been far less than this and that it was mostly rice. When the order was ready he handed it to me without a word. I thanked him and left but then returned and told him that I’m a regular customer and that his attitude towards me was very rude. He again said nothing and I left. I shall never return to this store or buy from Guzman y Gomez again. And from the negative reviews here I am not the only one to receive such treatment.
I ordered grilled chicken bowl without any sauce, but they put some sauce over it and i ordered the same order many times before as well it was fine before but today they were saying this is like this only, they always put some sauce but they didn’t ever. This is wrong that after their mistake they didn’t even change the bowl.
