High quality silo art of Australian poet, Dorothea Mackellar by artist Heesco. There’s a small parking area, and signage explaining both the artist and his subject, including her connection to the local are. Worth a look, you can only see the bottom of the work by taking the time to pull in.
The Dorothea McKellar paintings on the silos are very good and the excerpt of her famous poem is very well presented.
Amazing painting, almost like a photograph. A wonderful tribute to Dorothea Mackellar.
What an amazing tribute to a visionary young lady! Anyone who learnt this poem as a child will cherish the images evoked from simple words. Gunnedah is a wonderful place to spend a few days.
