Really fresh, delicious Korean food cooked right on the grill in front of you. Warm, friendly service and trendy interiors. We had a large group booking and they went over and above to create a tasting menu for everyone, including those with strict dietary requirements. There's lots to choose from the menu which accommodates vegetarians and carnivores alike! They've done a great job here.
Their BBQ set menu seem reasonably priced at first. So we ordered two sets that were meant for four. But there were three of us and they only gave us 3 servings of rice/soup and little veggies for wrapping. Due to the under value portion, we kept topping up and ended up paying more than $120 for three. Taste and BBQ meat quality vs other Korean BBQ in Melbourne is 5.5/10.
I don't know what restaurant these other people have been eating at but GU.E is one of the best Korean restaurants I've ever been to. The environment is clean and has a nice modern decor. The food was definitely not burnt nor uncooked. It was prepared in a short amount of time and still tasted amazing. The staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Overall my experience at this restaurant was excellent and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
Gu.E is following the new the new trend of trendy upper class Korean restaurants. It has a great neat decor on the inside that separates them from the usual Korean BBQ restaurants we're used to. Although the decor is nice I believe the food is more important. We came as a group of 12 and sat at two different tables one behind the other. We ordered 3 set menus per table each set menu is for 2 people at a price of around $55 per set menu. Gu.E only servers Wagyu beef alongside some pork and seafood. The waitresses grill the meat and veggies for you at your table. But I found that the beef as good as Wagyu can get is just a bit too plain with very little flavour as the grilling dries up all the juices within the steak. I found the pork on the other hand to be much more flavoursome as it was marinaded to begin with. Although Gu.E has a great style to it, the food just doesn't do it for me.
Used a Groupon for the pork set. Absolutely fantastic! The price point is bang on for the quality of food and the level of service IMO. I'll certainly be coming back again!
The food was ok except the unwelcoming treatment from one of the staff is a little bit disappointing. She's so loud, didn't cook the wagyu properlyhalf burnt, knocked my beer down until half empty and didn't exchange it.

It was our first time here. The staff is so professional and friendly. The food is fresh and the location is very close to elsternwick station.
Very friendly server the night we went. Good food although not the greatest value. Would return for the galbi.
Used a Groupon voucher but would definitely go back under normal circumstances. Nice casual setting too.
