5 star service! 5 star chips! We dropped in to Growling Frog for some respite from the cold after visiting Yan Yean Reservoir. The staff were prompt and very friendly even though we’d arrived between meals. Chips on their own weren’t on the menu, but they happily made some up. Very generous for the price, hot and crunchy too! Very happy passers through, thank you.

Location is lovely. Overlooking the golf course and hills as the backdrop. Food was great. You could tell it was made fresh using clean oil for the deep fried elements of the dish. Generous portion size. Service was great. Just at the end i asked for a take away box and the person handed me a washed takeaway box which was still wet and had a sticker on it that said 'penne'. Must have taken the box they used to store food in their kitchen by mistake. All in all good experience except the takeaway box incident. Will go there again. Could do with a bit more options on the menu for brunch.

Attended Growling Frog Restaurant for mother's day. Had the two course Mother's day lunch. The lamb shanks were amazing they just melted in the mouth. Service was exceptional and staff went out of their way. The lovely chef also checked in to see that we were happy with our meal. would highlt recommend Growling Frog to others.

The one star is for the fabulous view, terrible meal, smelt and tasted dreadful, like the parma had been cooked two days ago and reheated too often, mash dry, julienne carrots burnt and cold, the only good part was the space between the vegetables. Dining chairs filthy, table tops worn and heavily scratched, a real looking run down cafe. Definately not a restaurant. Really disappointed as i gave eaten here many times in the past, but no more.
Friendly service, good food and great views. Kids loved seeing the kangaroos.
Visited here for breakfast with a large group, staff were very friendly and extremely helpful however food and coffee was not up to scratch. Many meals were missing items or just the wrong meal. My order was burnt and overall food was very average for the price and location. It's a shame because the views are so beautiful!
Had lunch here last Sunday with a large group of friends. The meals were very disappointing, mostly inedible & greatly overpriced. Will not be returning.
