A delightful walk through the greenery full of birds!nnWhen you need a time to reflect and recharge, head for one of the quiet streets bordering this oasis in the middle of the Northern suburbs. You can walk a small distance or do a loop around the whole area which is so amazing because its wildlife is protected from the predators like dogs and cats. Of course, you cannot walk inside with your dog, unfortnately, but you can also walk through the surrounding streets and still see a lot of green space and birds.
Took a walk through the forest to look at the roos and listen to the birds all around. It was a peaceful walk going around the lush green pathways. If you enjoy walking or cycling then give it a try.
Pretty good for everyday walks as it’s right in the middle of a suburb! There are multiple walks, mostly easy with a few steep climbs for a couple of tracks. One would def see some beautiful birds and kangaroos in the forest… there is a proper walkway and directions put up everywhere to make it easy to find your way inside the forest. We enjoyed our walks there!!
There's just something very special about this forest/nature reserve and adjoining Gresswell Habitat Link, even though it's bordered by houses. It's hard to describe what makes it so. It could be the dry, gentle smell of the gums as the day warms up, the serenity, or the way the paths meander through.nA number of kangaroos are seen throughout, and birds aplenty.nLimited parking is available at the Greenwood Drive playground.
Totally fenced off environmentally protected nature park with gravel and unsealed pathways through the forest. If you are lucky, and at certain times of the day, you may spot a kangaroo or even a family of roos in this forest or even an echidna. I have also spotted two wallabies in the last year and a bit. In the centre of the forest is a large pond full of thick reeds and frogs, that you can hear in warmer weather. There are no plastic playgrounds here, although kids can play here and get back to nature. This is paradise for bird lovers, with kookaburras, tawny frogmouths, rosellas, that you can see walking in the forest. There are only 3 park benches in the entire forest but you can find other natural rest areas on fallen tree trunks if you need. The forest can also get muddy with puddles in some areas after heavy rain.
