An old fashioned fish and chips and burger doesn't seem to be the vogue in Katoomba anymore. While the other eateries nearby are overflowing this Saturday arvo, there were plenty of empty tables here. That's actually a plus, there's not that manic craziness that can come over a tourist town. The bacon and egg burger was great, you can taste the beef in the patty. It's on the pricey side at $7.80 but not highway robbery territory. The tables don't get clean much, every table had crumbs, which is a fail.
This is the worst place ever. Very dirty on the tables, ground and toilets. The guy who is the boss I guess didn't talk to us, no "Hello" or "what would you like to order?" he was looking unmotivated and unfriendly. The only good thing about the food, it's enough to fill you up. Buuut: The burgers have absolutely no taste. I can't imagine how you can cook a burger without any taste... it's nearly impossible. The chips were not so bad. But the vegetarian burger was disgusting too. 2 massive slices of pineapple on top which made the whole burger tasting like it. If you are hungry, DON'T go there. I would rather throw my money in the next rubbish bin, then eating here again. I am so unhappy that I forgot to check the reviews..
Staff-hopeless which obviously tells me the management is rubbish. Seafood is frozen crap and chips are ok. What a waste of $76.00. And yes I'll be telling all my friends and family. But wait there's more....tables were dirty, other families sitting next to us felt the same way. We left our food on the table and left...disgusting!
Worst staff ever!! Seriously rude and even had us thinking they were racist towards us. So 11 of us came in at 7:30PM they really didn't want to serve us. We got our meals and at 8PM they told us to leave cause they're closing...at 8PM?! It wasnt just the old man who was rude it was also the young girl who looks like his daughter! Giving us dirties the entire time and eye rolling. Food was average. Most expensive drinks EVER!! BEWARE!!
Terrible service and food. Fish cocktails looked and tasted ancient. Girl serving us was sweet but completely unprofessional and stood there talking for 10 minutes to her mates instead of taking orders. Couldn't sort out my change as she told me she hadn't had enough sleep.
I think the food is great, certainly one of the best takeaway places in Katoomba. My only issue is they are frequently closed at 7:30, when it says the shop closes at 8pm. Recently got there to order some chips at 7:30, and it was open, but the workers seemed really pissed off that I was there. Such a shame, because I like the food there.
Good burgers with loads in them and seriously large servings of chips. Yeah this is not the place to bring a high maintenance date, but for a proper feed in laid back surrounds this is it.
Very cheap place. Under 10$ for a butger. Ordered the junior burger combo, such a great portion of chips. Big burger. I recommend this place to everyone
Fish is way subpart and fries were average. Beef Burger with everything does have everything except taste. Not recommend.
Staff were extremely busy during lunch rush but were still delightfully polite and brought food to us while we sat. They made a constant effort despite having tens of people all hammering for their attention.
