Very very high quality and delicious food. The grilled fish was soft and buttery and the sauce was delicious. The beer-battered fries were crispy and light, the veggies were fresh and beautifully steamed, the ribs were amazing and the pasta we had was also superb. It’s a standard bistro style menu with pleasant and friendly staff. The surroundings are ordinary but go for the food.
The place is spotless, which is hard in a place that size. Staff was very friendly. I got there on Monday night - which I understand doesn’t offer much food options in Eden - so the place was packed with 2 big birthday tables; the kitchen was therefore under the pump… that being said, that doesn’t excuse an overcooked salmon and cold chips. It’s a shame because the fish was very well seasoned.
Nice pub, had a good time there. Bistro has standard pub meals which you also order at the bar area. Bar has a good atmosphere with tab facilities. Small pokies room and a balcony out the back with partial sea views. Reasonably priced and staff were really nice.
The guys on the bar were so friendly and welcoming. Yummy oysters and prawns would love to come back again. We were on a cruise ship just for the day and they had good wine and beer.Service: 5/5
Ordered two lamb cutlets with veg, 1with chips an 1 with mash, didn't get the mash, veggies tasted like frozen veg and weren't proper lamb cutlets but regular chops rolled in crumbs, another in our party ordered fish of the day, the piece of fish was so small we had to check if this was really the serve. Very disappointing as the previous operator of the hotel, served much better meals. Woolworth you have let this slip down the ladder
Passing through on the way to Sydney we were told that the pub did good meals. I'm sorry to say that after a referral and looking forward to a good meal it was all downhill from there. We had to wait over an hour for a couple of very basic schnitzels. The salad was better than the basic bit of tomato and couple of different varieties of lettuce but the chips were cold and tasted like they were the fries that McDonald's rejected. My veal schnitzel looked like it had been in a Bain Marie for a week and microwaved just for me. Thank God the beer has better quality control but the bottled coke was barely chilled. A tip for the staff would be that if there is going to be a long delay in serving meals they should say so when ordering.
Great food, great service. Highly recommend the seafood platter for two. Will be back again. The only problem was we had to open our own bottle of champagne
Inadvertently wandered in here for lunch on Melbourne Cup. They had a special menu for the occassion - we ordered the lamb cutlets and fillet mignon, both of which were cooked perfectly. The madeira jus was delightful and the accompanying vegetables complemented the meat well. For dessert we had the sticky date and passionfruit cheesecake, both of which were enjoyable. The accompanying tea and coffee weren't too bad, considering a pub is generally not the place one thinks to go if they're hankering for a good hot beverage. The staff were friendly and engaging and the service was prompt. Overall, I had a delightful meal and was a little disappointed that it wasn't more crowded - not that I would have personally preferred more people but that there weren't more people there to appreciate a good feed.
The only pub to have extended/all day dining from 1130AM, This is a game changer especially when you get distracted at both the Killer Whale Museum, Antiques and Eden Visitor information centre. The personalised napkins added further character to the delicious food in a modern open planned kitchen. See you soon Eden.
ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Ordered at the table, waited for 1.5hrs asked the waitress and the reply we got was nah those table barcodes don't work. She never followed up just walked away. A young fella came out served meals to other customers. When we asked him we received a reply of I don't know I normally clean dishes. Finally after 1hour 45mins went to counter to be told oh yeah your orders are down the ticket line you will have to wait another 20mins. We had to asked to be bumped up. Absolutely no offer of refund. Finally got our meals 1hr and 50mins later. Never to return again what a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!
