Grazia, Glen Iris - 4 out of 5.nnAs heavily requested, here is the review for Grazia in Glen Iris.nnA modern Italian restaurant that is absolutely visually stunning, a great place to come for a celebratory dinner with family.nnPictured is the:nCalamari fritti alla Joe spicy calamari with citrus salad; $26 small, $40 largen Tataki di manzo beef with chimichurri, $28nTortelloni with wild mushrooms and truffle sauce $38nSan Daniele pizza with prosciutto, mascarpone, $30nnThe starters were the stand outs for me. The calamari was perfectly cooked, great level of spice, and so unique with the citrus flavour. The beef was exceptional, so tender, loved the flavours of the chimichurri, definitely my favourite thing I ate.nnThe tortelloni was delicious and cooked well, but a very small serving for the pricennThe pizza was cooked well but I wasn’t blown away with it. This may have been because it had mascarpone on it and I don’t love sweet toppings, so this may just be me.nnThere is a beautiful wine menu here and I had my fave red Chianti and was very pleased.nnI had a great time here, thought it was a beautiful spot for a nice celebratory dinner, enjoyed the food especially the starters, but did expect to be BLOWN AWAY based on the awards and reviews of Grazia, as well as it being pricey.nnOverall 4 out of 5.
Had such a beautiful dinner here! The staff were so friendly, kind, and attentive—it really made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. The food was absolutely exceptional every bite was full of flavour, and the wine was delicious too. The restaurant itself is modern, clean, and aesthetically gorgeous—such a lovely atmosphere to dine in. Will definitely be coming back!
Beautiful restaurant, love the panes of windows on the roof which is allowing sunlight to pour into the restaurant, gives such warm and cozy vibes.nFood was very much on point, nothing to complain about at all. Portions were reasonable for the price too.nWaiters could do with a little bit more smile though!
Booked for 5 at 5:15. A super early dinner and 15 minutes after open, so it was not very busy on the Tuesday night walking in. However, mid meal and end of meal 6:30-7:30 time - it’s prime time so highly recommend booking.nnAs soon as you walk in - Immediate points for aesthetic and cleanliness. What a beautiful spot. Gorgeous big windows for natural lighting, and generally just so pretty - it’s very inviting and welcoming. Heaps of seating, deceptively big with upstairs seating. Heaps of groups can sit.nnFood wise, we had the calamari fritti - both versions ala joe and plain. The ala joe isn’t that spicy - on a scale of 1-10 it’s very very mild so definitely the lower end. It tasted great though and reminded me of a sour chilli sauce. The plain calamari was crispy and as you’d expect. Fresh. We got a side of fries - standard. Our friend had the pizza zucco and she said it was very well made, fresh ingredients, perfect dough. Not pictured - the duck my friend ordered who said it was amazing! this one took a bit of time but it was well worth the wait. I also ordered a sweet mocktail to go with my meal - it was the Lychee Cranberry one. Easy to down, it’s delicious!nnDessert - we ordered a Bombe Alaska, Tiramisu Clasico, and the gelato 3 different scoops. The Bombe Alaska is almost too pretty to eat! The meringue is so soft and went so well with the lemon inside. The tiramisu was perfect - not an overbearing amount of alcohol if any - it was mainly in the syrupy part of the chocolate, coffee flavour was on point. For the gelato the selection of flavours depends on what they have available - tonight it was a caramelised chocolate, blueberry and strawberry. And wow the flavours of all 3 were incredible. Rank 1 was the chocolate for sure. Such a rich flavour. Overall the food was very much a hit.nnA comment on service - 3 of us had arrived and walked in on time, 1 of our friends could no longer make it, and the other friend was late. They had been clear with us they needed the table back by a certain time. This was fine - staff were very gracious with us giving us additional time at the end even after paying for the bill. At times waiter presence was a bit “overbearing” - for instance, we had arrived and were just chatting; waiting a bit before we ordered. There were about 3 waiters just hovering around us as we were the only table upstairs so we felt we needed to order quickly and felt a bit awkward. The hovering was evident throughout our meal but I understand it is a process to ensure our night continues to run smoothly and they get their table back on time for the next reservation. This was a very minor observation and not really a complaint - all staff were generally well meaning, friendly, attentive and up for a chat.nnOverall, I’d be back. It was a really great experience - good food, great atmosphere, generally friendly staff.
Lovely restaurant with FANTASTIC pizza.nnWe had the pumpkin and pancetta and was absolutely blown away by how perfect it was!!! I would go back just to get this pizza over and over again.nnThe service was very warm and friendly, which we loved. Really welcoming atmosphere and diverse groups with families, couples and friends across the beautifully decorated restaurant.nnThe rest of the food was also good but not great. The gnocchi with beef was not super flavourful, beef tataki felt quite dry and the focaccia was very burnt as pictured.nnI would come back for the pizza and to try some other things on the menu for sure.
