This used to be our go to bakery in Porty D but it seems it has either changed hands or the owner has opted for profit over quality. Attached are the pictures of what we didn’t eat from two pies purchased earlier today - they were literally full of fatty gelatine with very little real meat. The pies used to be wholesome and full of real meat but these were very disappointing especially when you are paying $8 a pie! We won’t be going back, such a shame to see a great bakery turn into this.
This place used to be a favourite when we visit PD but has deteriorated. Their once amazing coral trout and prawn pie is now full of peas, as a filler probably. They use a lot of pumpkin too in their vegetable quiche. Photo of their new pea pie below. Tables can be sticky and dirty.
Artisan bakery!nWe stopped in for afternoon tea when we arrived in Port Douglas. The coffee was terrific, and the chocolate brownie was amazing – super rich and decadent. The passionfruit tapioca pudding was lovely too. It was so good that we came back for lunch the next day. The coral trout and prawn pie was delicious, and the bacon and egg roll was awesome - filled with a generous amount of bacon and multiple eggs!! We ordered a beef lasagne to have for dinner in our holiday rental and it was delicious with our rocket and pear salad and wine. This is highly recommended!
Perfect place to have breakfast, open early, friendly stuff with great food, pastries and coffee! I spent three nights at Port Douglas and all three mornings had breakfast here.
We had the pistachio croissant, custard cronut and coffee. They were all delicious and tasty. Highly recommended. There are seats outside the shop which is convenient.
