Booked for an overnight stay in a Bay room and lunch the following day. From the moment we walked in from the ample parking at the rear of the property we were made to feel so welcome by any staff member we encountered. A wonderful greeting in Reception and so helpful. The room was lovely and very well appointed, with a beautiful balcony to enjoy. Bed was super comfortable. Very small niggle....the squeezable soap dispensers are a little difficult for arthritic hands. The personal handwritten welcome note from Mark was very much appreciated. Everybody had a smile when we popped into the Front Bar. After a good night's sleep, lunch in the freshly renovated and much brighter Bistro was excellent. We tried the Atrium a few months ago and were eager to get back to the Bistro. Service was excellent. Special kudos to Hamish who was present and aware without hovering. A lovely lunch. Hubby was very impressed with the Salmon and I loved my whiting. Looking forward to returning. Bookings for the Bistro are essential. Thank you to Mark and all the Team.....we had a truly wonderful stay with you.
I loved how this hotel had different areas you could choose according to your mood. The outside atrium for more informal dining options, and the interior bistro for a classic pub feel. The local area was referenced in the prints on the walls. Fresh flowers everywhere. The food is so generous! I swear I was served a kilo of mussels! Beautiful service. Front bar for drinks later, so a relaxing place to hang. The view from the front verandah is gorgeous!
We went to the Portarlington Pub this evening with friends and had an amazing dining experience. Dining with a large group, we knew that the meals may take a little long to receive, however the minute we sat down, the staff were overall attentive, first drinks were served and meals were ordered and received promptly. The meal portions were generous and delicious. It was obvious that the kitchen and staff operated like a well oiled machine. Tables were cleared and dessert were ordered and served just a swiftly. An enjoyable experience had by all. Highly recommend!
Good points: - The venue is beautiful and they have done a great job in renovating the pub. - The staff there are amazing. Great service that was above and beyond! Not so-good points: - The menu is pretty much your standard pub menu. The food was pretty much your standard quality pub food.
From the moment we drove past the hotel we couldn’t wait to get inside with the overall look and design of the place being so inviting. Upon arrival the vibes were high, drinks flowing and staff friendly and welcoming. I ordered the BEST burger of my whole life which came out in no time at all. The whole experience was excellent and we already can’t wait to return.
Always have a great experience here. Restaurant manager always makes an effort to seat us as walk ins The staff always have the biggest smiles and best attitude, special mention to Vanj who took our 18month old for a little walk while we ate. My partner always orders the lambs fry, which he devours. We always share the muscles and the kids meals are fantastic.
It has been done up beautifully and the service was faultless. Such friendly wonderful staff. The undercover outdoor area is great if you have a pram - plenty of space. Both my hubby and I got burgers which were nice but nothing to write home about. We’d go again but probably order differently.
Had lunch here today! Beautifully revamped old Hotel. Great atmosphere in the Bistro and good selection of local wines and food. The whiting was lightly battered and excellent! The seafood risotto was also enjoyed. Finished off with the tiramisu! All in a lovely lunch! With special thanks to all staff and our waitress Van!Service: 5/5
We dropped in for a drink yesterday. It was busy, as we walked towards a bench table in the bar area a staff member came over and wiped it down before we had chance to sit down Wine selection excellent, bar staff know how to make a proper lemon, lime and bitters. Cannot fault the service, lovely staff and drinks on offer and top marks for championing local wine
We had a great dinner at the Bistro tonight. Food was good. Meals were quick and service was very friendly and came back to check on us a couple of times during the evening. Very happy and will be back soon
