A nice walk with some lovely rock features and differing flora. I did the walk in reverse from Katoomba to Wentworth Falls… highly recommend taking this route… the stairs are a killer. Not suited for an average family, although an active family would do okay. I think the section between Gordan Falls and Katoomba would be best if you wanted to do just one section. Gladstone lookout was by far my favourite though!nnEdited to add - thank you Blue Mountains trail building team for this magnificent hiking journey, connecting so many highlights of the mountains in one convenient track
The walk was stunning visually with so much to look at. The sign posting could be a little confusing, particularly in the first few km's near Wentworth Falls. There was a detour into Falls Road at the beginning of the walk which took us off the track - we rejoined closer to Wentworth Falls carpark. There are a lot of stairs which made the walk moderately difficult. Coming in towards Leura there was a section of the track where you ended up in the back of the Fairmont Resort and then on a long section of roadway which is a bit confusing minimal signs to let you know you were still heading the right way. Overall I enjoyed the walk very much. I wasn't able to do the second day due to inclement weather but I plan to finish it in the future.
Our young family completed the Grand Cliff Top Walk. We found it to be both beautiful and scenic.nThe sandstone steps are amazing. It's wonderful to see that the walk is so well maintained.
Stunning hike, can run it in a morning approx 17km, less than 3hrs and lunch at a Katoomba pub. Follow the black cockatoo trail marker.nnVia public transport:n- take train to Wentworth Falls, and walk to Wilson Park for the start of the trail
Wow. Wow. Wow.nIf you enjoy hiking and are quite fit and able - then this is a MUST DO for locals and tourists.nnI started near Wentworth Falls station and finished my first day at Echo Point Three Sisters. I did the final 3km the second morning as I was staying in Katoomba.nnDay 1 took me 4.5 hours and I seemed to do 18km including a few side-trips to extra viewing spots. I’m a 54yo male.. so I’m sure others can do it faster if they pushed themselves. But part of the attraction is stopping to admire the AMAZING views all along the way.nnYes there are some detours for track maintenance, but these are manageable and relatively minor.nnThe signage overall was very good. Simply look for the specific signs with the black cockatoo and you can’t go wrong.nnI would suggest people plan to go when the weather is good - as this turned it into an amazing outing.nnSolo hiker. Proper kit and backpack with water bladder needed.nnThere are LOTS of stairs. Down and Up. Up and Down. Be prepared. I think I did 1,000m ascent in total on Day1…!nnGo for it - and then tell everyone you know. They’ll thank you!
