If you are coming here for food, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Disregard if you are just here to take food pictures.nnI came here today with my partner with very high expectations after seeing all the recommendations online. We ordered cauliflower omurice and mushroom bowl, with a tea and a concrete latte.nnBoth food came with excellent presentation. However it is very unfortunate that the omurice arrived cold and the mushroom bowl, my gosh, it was no where near pleasant to have. I felt like I received a bowl of greasy and salty sauce with all food ingredients listed on the menu as garnish. You would imagine that the mushroom bowl would be a bowl of healthy vegetables with some sauce on top, no, it’s the other way around. The bowl is a few leaves and some mushrooms soaked in a ridiculous amount of sauce. As much as I hate wasting, I gave up on it.nnI really don’t want to be a mean person as I am here on a holiday and why would I care for a once off visit. However I’m writing it to the owner of the restaurant - I really wish the food quality matches your food presentation. I appreciate that the omurice takes time to assemble the egg, rice, sauce and the toppings, perhaps a better timing for all parts would really enhance the experience for your guests. As for the mushroom bowl, some serious adjustments on food-to-sause ratio is strongly suggested.nnFrom a very passionate hospitality person.
The food here is incredible, definitely one of our favourite spots for lunch! The customer service is top-notch, with all the staff being warm and welcoming. A special shout-out to Heidi for her exceptional friendliness Highly recommended!
Pork katsu sando was absolutely amazing. It is never easy to cook pork katsu because it can get overcooked easily when it's fried. I have tried several other sando places and whilst their flavours were all good, some of them were often overcooked. Goya's pork katsu is super juicy, it feels like they sou vide their pork katsu but I highly doubt so, since it needs to be fried. Also to note they have super thick cut of pork.nThe coffee here is also one of the best amongst the other cafes here. Touchy of fruitiness and doesn't just taste like milk.
Their Totoro black sesame & hojicha lattes were both light & flavoursome. The egg sando was delicious & not heavy at all! Wish there was some kind of vegetable component though. The beef cheek omurice was also not heavy & the tomato-rice had the perfect sourness to balance out the sauce.nnDefinitely would come back to try their other items on the menu.
It was a nice relaxing environment. Ordered 2 omurice and 2 sandos for lunch. It was just the pork in the Pork Sando was a bit hard to chew. Other than that, the omurice and Tamago Sando were pretty good!
