I was admitted on a voluntary basis for an acute mental health crisis, I couldn’t be happier with my treatment. I was treated with kindness, dignity and respect throughout my admission.nThe nursing and therapeutic staff are lovely, the doctors are professional and courteous.nThe cleaners are so sweet and thorough. The kitchen staff are friendly and the food is amazing.nIf this wasn’t a hospital and it was a resort I’d still give it 5 stars, and recommend it to friends - as it’s a mental health facility I hope I don’t need to recommend it but if they required it, without a doubt I would recommend.nMy recovery was assisted and expedited due to the whole team and environment provided by Gordon Private.
My therapist recommended a Dr here as I have been tested for ADHD & a few professionals in the industry I know personally have thought I should get tested for it from many years ago. I got told that I have post natal depression and cannot even be tested for ADHD at this time. Thank you for wasting my money, $700 to be exact & this is exactly why I have put off seeing any professionals for both depression and possibly ADHD for most of my life. The staff can’t even provide simple instructions about parking or telling you to send your test results in BEFORE you see the doctor, not to mention they didn’t get any notes from my psychologist.
I've been a patient before at Gordon, but this year have only had a terrible experience. Long explanation for anyone considering this hospital:nnI was on the waiting list since early April 2024. They confirmed my referral and said they would remain in contact, but didn't. When I emailed and called to ask whether I was still on the wait list, they incorrectly said that my referral was outdated when it wasn't, and admitted the mistake. I was put back on the wait list and eventually told that I could be admitted on the 27th of May, when my psychiatrist would come back from leave.nnI made so many preparations for the date after waiting so long. On the 24th of May they emailed saying that my psychiatrist was not taking any patients and told me to go somewhere else. I asked whether there were ANY psychiatrists available who could take me, and that I could get a new referral and wait longer to be admitted under a different psychiatrist. They responded that there were literally no psychiatrists taking patients at all, and to go elsewhere.nnThe communications have been incredibly rude, I've been willing to continue waiting to be admitted by any psychiatrist and have never been told to just go somewhere else by a hospital like this. The only reason I can think of to completely deny an admission at Gordin is that I'm transgender and they simply don't want me specifically as a patient. I feel like my time was completely wasted, the money spent on my GP for the first referral wasted, told I could be admitted on a specific date that I prepared for and told days before that I couldn't be admitted. It's been a complete mess and entirely unprofessional.
Great experience kitchen staff are amazing. Very friendly and polite. Krishna is part of the kitchen staff. Very polite accompanying and dedicated to helping everyone out which goes along way.
The nurses helped put me forward and change habits.Sure some of the nurses were strict, however it is a psychiatric hospital, and not a hotel. Personally I found Kylie to have a lot of empathy at times, and in particular if you were really distressed she would go out of her way to give practical suggestions, and helped to prepare you for discharge.
