Good westernised Chinese buffet which was completely unexpected in Charters Towers. All the food was hot well presented and good value. It was a nice change to Tbones and schnitzels. The decor and setting was a bit dated but clean
Good filling buffet style meal. The hosts were attentive and helpful. Service with a smile. Decor is a bit tired and cluttered. A large group of locals were eating before attending a theatre performance. That speaks heaps about the food.
I'd say it makes my top 2 Chinese restaurants in Charters towers, and top 1 buffets. Perfect balance of sweet and sour. Do miss the bottomless capucino though.

I travel a lot with my work and Chinese is one of my favourite meals. The Golden Mine Chinese Restaurant was THE BEST Chinese I have had in a very long time...... If not THE BEST EVER...
Wednesday night at 7.45 and my wife and I had the $19.50 "smorgasbord". We had the place to ourselves. The smorgasbord consisted of about 8 of the usual dishes, eg. Sweet and Sour, honey chicken, beef in black bean, fried rice, braised chicken, omelette and spring rolls. Whilst they were all quite good, the food wasn't hot enough. Hostess was friendly and helpful. Dinner 1 Great Northern stub and a bottle of water - $50.
The Golden Mile is a family run affair with a buffet style meal on offer. The food is good, the service is fine and at $16.95 all you can eat what more could you ask? P.S. there are lesser cost take away offerings as well.
Seriously awesome time! And great service too. Sensational food - all you can eat, for a great price. Reduced prices for children under 10. Would definitely come back if we weren't continuing our road trip in the morning.
