Golden Choice in Subiaco is my go-to place for fresh fruit and a wide selection of vegetables. While they have a bigger store in Northbridge, this one always has everything I need. I love that they carry particular Asian fruits and veggies that are hard to find elsewhere, like longan, taro, and lotus root, along with a wide range of Asian condiments.nnThe store can get quite crowded on weekends, so I prefer visiting during weekday mornings for a more relaxed experience. One of my favorite things about this place is their pre-cut fruit, which makes portioning so much easier. They even cut some veggies in half, which is perfect for someone who lives in a small household and hates wasting food.nnParking can be tricky as the few spots right in front are often full, but there’s plenty of street parking nearby. Prices are reasonable, making it a fantastic spot for fresh, affordable produce.
As an international student in Perth, this is the most pocket friendly grocery store for me. Not only the convenient pricing, this store also offers exclusive collection of fresh tropical fruits and Asian vegetables which might be difficult to find in other supermarkets. They have a wide collection of items starting from breakfast cereals, lentils, flours, noodles, all Asian spices and sauces to eggs, vegetables, fruits, frozen Asian food and much more. Located in the heart of Subiaco, this is also easily accessible by public transport. They have free parking spots just outside and even street parking nearby.
I have to agree with some of the reviewers here. I have often experienced poor customer service at this store. The checkout staff speak loudly amongst themselves in their own language, showing little regard for customers. On several occasions, their tone and comments have come across as dismissive or even mocking — especially concerning for customers who don’t understand what’s being said. It’s unprofessional and unacceptable.
This used to be a go to place for the past 8 years I have been in Perth. I moved out of subi last year but I drive for 45 minutes to get to this place for fresh vegetables but today the staff who was refilling the cucumber aisle was terribly rude to me when I dropped one of the cucumbers unintentionally and I was more than happy to pay for it but for a minute it started cursing me in her language which I couldn’t understand at all. This incident was really upsetting.
Bought few fruits and it tastes natural sweetnnBuy more because it is worth it. No regret!
