Background - when we ordered, had food brought out. There was 1 other table, so it wasn’t busy. Likely the first or second order of the evening.nnHad the deep dish pizza $49 - besides being the thinnest deep dish pizza I’ve ever seen. The middle was super doughy, undercooked, almost no sauce which sucks because the sauce was the best part.nnParmesan pasta was nice, but neither was worth the charge. Had hoped to have the restaurant redeem itself, but very lacklustre for the cost.
The cheese wheel pastas are amazing. They were kind enough to tell us when they were preparing them so we could watch the process. The parmesan cheese wheel pasta was great, but I tried some of the pecorino & will definitely be back to order that. Another in our group had the piave & said it was the right amount of chili. Also enjoyed the lemon meringue cocktail.
I recently visited this Italian restaurant to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and it turned out to be an unforgettable evening. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting—perfect for a special occasion.nnThe food was absolutely delicious—authentic, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish we tried showed care and attention to detail. A special shoutout to the chef, who not only prepared an amazing meal but also came out to check on how we were enjoying everything. That personal touch meant a lot!nnWe were also looked after by the manager, Mel, who was genuinely warm and attentive throughout the evening. She made sure everything went smoothly and added to the overall experience with her kindness and professionalism.nnAll in all, it was a wonderful night, and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great Italian food and heartfelt hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!
Unfortunately I was quite disappointed when visiting here. I made our reservation online which worked fine. All the images on social media made it look like a vibey, dimly lit setting great for date night, but upon arrival we found it was bright and loud and the decor was honestly very tacky. We were then confused when looking at the menus and realising the prices were higher than the menu on their website which was already pricey… oops!nThe saving grace is that the food was delicious, otherwise this would be a much more scathing review. The spaghetti meatballs were certainly a highlight for us, and the pizza was quite good too. Overall, I won’t be coming again, but I’d recommend it if you’re a fan of pasta and don’t mind a less ambient setting. I’d also add that despite booking for a special occasion, there was no effort made by the staff to acknowledge this.nTLDR - great food, average experience
What an awesome find! Godi La Vita has that perfect, cozy neighborhood trattoria vibe. The pasta is clearly homemade and cooked just right – my fettuccine was rich and creamy.
