Went here for lunch the other day. Ordered beef schnitzel and was really impressed and couldn’t fault anything. This place is everything a pub should be. The staff were really nice as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone and go back. Pokies were pumping as well which is good to see! Good job guys don’t normally do these reviews things but felt like I had to :
Came here for a sneaky lunch. Prices are not cheap, but that's okay, because the food was superb. Fresh crisp salad, beautifully cooked chicken schnitzels and chips, garlic prawn sauce was full of flavour and pretty sure they were SA prawns on top too. Had a side of veg and it was also delicious. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
My wife and I have always enjoyed a great night out at this pub for many years. Unfortunately, we recently visited and didn't realize there must have been a change of ownership. Totally different staff and different menu which is fine as we are always open minded to see if the food measures up to how we have always remembered it. Sadly, the food we had ordered which was satay chicken for an entrée followed by a small pizza and fish chips as our mains. We noticed that other people who had arrived later than us received and had eaten while we were still waiting for our mains. When the entrée arrived the satay chicken was actually really awful which is a shame as it is relatively easy to make. We noticed that the wrong spices had been added and were over used and out of balance. This might sound like someone being pretentious but seriously it was really bad. The mains didn't arrive until I asked the waiter and show them we had been waiting for an hour. During this time we had noticed a nearby guest order a steak dinner and were already eating. The waiter went into the kitchen and took our food out of their warmer. It had clearly been waiting there for a long time. The chips cold and soggy and the fish was also cold. The pizza while small had very few toppings on it. We have had good memories at this pub and we are sad that the new kitchen staff are not up to a normal pub standard. Used to be one of the best food pubs in northern Adelaide. Unless they make significant improvements, we won't be coming back.
It's all about the pokies. Had trouble finding someone to serve, although they were friendly enough. And since when did chicken classify as an extra in Ceasar salad? Without it, all that was left was an overcooked egg, a few tiny bits of bacon and lettuce; all drowning in too much dressing. And the pizza was no better, looked and tasted like it came out of a box. And all at premium prices. Dietary restrictions: No sugar free option with soft drinks and all meals high in carbs with no opt out options. Veg instead of rice - no. Veg instead of chips - no.
The steak was on the tough side and tasted a bit burnt. The salad was mainly rocket which can be and was bitter. Chips were delicious. Food & drinks: My lemon lime and bitters was great and a good size serve. Parking: Great
I had one of the best steaks I've ever had. Very nice staff. Definitely a great place to enjoy a great meal!Rooms: 4/5
How disappointing is the new menu! We booked for dinner, took one look and ended up going across the road to Brunelli's. There was not one thing on the menu that I liked and it was so overpriced. One of our favourite and regular places to eat is now off our list.
Excellent service and brilliant timing with food preparation, to have the food out within 10-12 minutes was great and thank you Glynde and a special thank you to Laititia for bringing my second bowl of Dianne sauce you’re a peach and just slow yourself down don’t rush yourself, thanks Glynde hotel team
Good food at good prices. The quail was a stand out. I’d go again
