It is a lovely place to walk around even though cannot climb the tree. It is no longer safe to climb anymore if you talked to the park ranger instead of making judgment by self. There is a national park fee required. If you have the annual national park pass, then you are good to go like us. We got lots of information from the lady from the entrance.
So much fun, if you are alright with heights then your going to be able to climb the tree and see the view from up on the platform. If heights are not your thing there are plenty of lovely walk trails and a spot to have a BBQ.
I went there on a Saturday morning and decided to go up at a slow pace and stop as I needed. It was really good experience and really nice views from the top. It gets windy up there but doesn't feel unsafe at all from the platform. I recommend proper shoes to feel comfy all the way.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNo
Great climbing adventure! I am happy that they kept it basic with metal pegs and some mesh rather than "upgrading" to a safe Gucci tourist climbing highway. As of the Q&A there have never been a fatality from climbing but two heard attacks after returning to ground.
Gloucester tree has always been a favourite for many as it is not too high to climb. Fantastic views from above. If you feel like climbing a tree, give this a try.
A must visit and try for people who’s up for some adrenaline rush and conquering fear of heights. The climb is easy 53m, watch your footings and dont rush…Can be very busy, squeeze around climbers going up/down. Walking platform at top for views and rest. Entry fee may apply.
I think the next time I come here, I'd need to use my other hand to show how many times I climbed this tree. And if you're up for it, and you're in the area, going up is a must. Despite how scary it looks, it is a very safe climb and I don't think anybody have died from falling down. According to Google a couple of people had heart attacks as they come down but you should be okay just as long as you keep three points on the tree at all times. The view up there is one of my favourite views in the region. And this region is not short on picturesque views. It is also very easy to get to from Pemberton town centre, it's practically in Pemberton's backyard.
Beautiful place to visit. A lovely short walk. Ample places to picnic and a large undercover area too. Unfortunately the tree is closed for maintenance a lotVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
It is amazing you are still allowed to climb the tree in todays age of the nanny state. The climb was not as challenging as I thought. There were even some children of about 12 zooming up it. Good facilities. The view from the top is a little broken with the surrounding trees growing up but worth the challenge. Would not want to do it on a wet day.
You can come here to climb a Karri tree. It seems to be very tall. There is a fee for entry of $15 per car. This will also get you into other parks on the same day. Be warned that this climb is not for the faint hearted. You might be able to climb up…but the climb down might be scary. Be prepared to queue up. You will have to squeeze on the ladder rungs to let a fellow climber pass. There are toilet facilities in this area but it wasn’t very clean.
