We loved our stay at Gladstone backpackers. We both stayed here for 4 months doing our 88 days and if it wasn’t for the hostel and the people we met, we probably wouldn’t have stayed this long. It really felt like a home away from home. The manager Brynn, helped us to find our regional work and is always there when needed. They also organise activities and family dinners. Long story short, we really enjoyed out time here!nnThanks to everyone who made our stay amazing and let’s not forget the cute animals too!nnMatteo & Danielle
I absolutely loved this place as a solo traveller. There are so many group activities planned and it creates a sense of community. I had so much fun while staying here and made some really good friends.nThe rooms are clean and there are enough showers so there was always one available when I needed.nGood location and I liked the facilities. There's a bar and pool but also a quiet space to relax by the kitchen. I will definitely be back!nThanks all
Stayed there for two or three nights.nThe draft beer from the bar was good. It had a gym and a pool, and the staff was super friendly and helpful—except for the owner.nHowever, the rooms were dirty and smelled musty. The bathrooms were often filthy, with no soap and unclean showers. The kitchen was rarely clean, had little storage space, and lacked essential items. Wouldn’t stay again.
First time backpackers. Was awesome. This place has groovy Bohemiam vibe. Sleeping bunks with randoms part of the experience, but highly recommended. Great vibe there
I’ve stayed at the Backpackers twice now as a solo traveller and feel like it’s safe I came back the second time just to see the friends I made there!. The shared facilities are cleaned once a day and staff are friendly and helpful. I would say that you shouldn’t expect the nicest room or bathroom you’ve ever used, but the social vibes are unmatched; it was a great place to make friends. The hostel experience is all about talking to the volunteers, staff, and other guests, so, like most things in life, you get what you give !
