We have enjoyed the teachers, and the school in general.nAs it is with any school, if you apply yourself and have a positive attitude, you'll succeed.nThere's good opportunities provided for extending the students in their areas of interest.
Gisborne boys high school jas a very old fashioned and out of date system that is biased towards more gifted kids and does not make an attempt to tutor anyone that really needs it. Other schools in gisborne contribute towards helping mentally and physically disabled students and have only had stairs all the way until 8 months ago. It is very toxic and some teachers are bordering physical abuse. My kids were bright up until they turned up at boys high, then they became withdrawn and closed off from everyone. Do not recommend do not send your son here
Such a toxic place the experience at that school is terrible, teachers barely teach not engaging at all for the boys who struggle w their focus only teachers that really teach are the teachers for the extremely intelligent boys head staff can be very toxic all the school really cares about is rugby nothing else boys don’t want to show up or drop out because it’s not a good school at all some have even considered taking their lives because they dreaded going to this school everyday I’d recommend any other one of the terrible schools in gisborne over this one do not send ur son here.
Worst school out there teacher’s have no form of respect towards students speak rudely to students when parents not around. Not much teaching going in classrooms and I have first hand experience with teachers bullying students. Ps had to give it 1 star if it was my choice would be 0
By far the worst experience at school my sons had. He was so excited to start high school this year! Hes gone from being happy and chirpy to withdrawn and sad angry. And this was from being bullied by a teacher!!! He felt like he couldnt ask 4 help and was being left behind. He did not want me coming in to school because he was embarrassed and thought he would get picked on once again by this arsshole. There were days when he beg and cry not to go to school!!
