Eat here on a regular basis. Staff are always friendly and very helpful. Decor is fantastic and makes the place all the much better to eat at. Pricing is fantastic can easily go out and feed 2 for $60 or less, not maccas style food so if you think its over priced you've clearly never eaten out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE & EVERYONE. Most people who gave very low reviews clearly went to the sushi train one over near the cinemas, this is not the same one as this store does not have a sushi train in it.
We went to this restaurant on Saturday around 11:20 am. We wanted to have a light Japanese lunch. Then we went in and asked for a table in the room where no sushi is going around in front of us. Then one of staff said to us "it is not open" But we saw two tables were occupied and two couples were sitting down. But the staff said we cannot sit down in the other side. So we asked for a table seat in the sushi part. Then we were told we cannot sit down there as only 4 people could sit down but the restaurant was not busy. We did not want to eat Sushi and did not want to look sushi going around in front of us while eating non-sushi dishes. Anyway, we left without eating any. We went to another restaurant and had a nice lunch. We do not think this is a good service. It should be more flexible when it is not busy.
I regularly go to the Hamilton restaurant and gathered the South Vank one would be similar but oh was I wrong. Firstly they say on their web site the restaurant is open all day but when I arrived at 5pm, it was closed. Second, the sushimi was not fresh and the size of the portion was pathetic, especially how much they charged. We then ordered Gyoza which looked like they had been boiled as it was dripping with water when I took a bite from it. The restaurant in general was dirty and the menus were completely falling apart. Defiantly won't be going back but I do recommend the Hamiton restaurant which is the best in Brisbane.
Had lunch with family at Ginga today. Based on the food this place should be shut down! Chicken Teriyaki and Chicken Bento... Chicken was dry just re-heated in microwave. You could taste that it was old, actually tasted a little off! Steamed Gyoza Dumplings???Didn't taste like Gyoza at all!!! Bean sprouts brown and soggy! Worst Japanese food experience with staff who do not seem to care as they would not comment when this was all brought to their attention!!! I will be pursuing this further!
We just walked in to this restaurant and two people eating and all booths empty We asked to sit in a booth and we were refused service and told booths were for four or more and we were to sit down the back. I eat there twice a week and spend a lot of money there and to be treated like that was disgraceful. Never ever will I go back and will make sure I let staff at local places know of this event. Rude staff can be a businesses downfall.
Rude service. Bad manners. Will not return, will not recommend. Surely it is not too much to ask of a simple task of cutting a sushi roll when you have a small child and you are the only customer. The staff need some training in basic manners.
Great food, good portion size and good prices. We had one bad experience with service, but overall it hasn't stopped us going back many times.
Excellent food. Eat here regularly and have never had a bad meal. Their takeaway options are pretty good too.
Totally a waste of time and money. I went to this restaurant for a light meal before watching a movie but in that restaurant I was treated with very rude attitude, I do not want describe it but I would like to advise that if you go to this place you are going to pay for unpleasantness.
Casual japanese menu. Limited drinks menu for beers or cider. Good location and nice decor. A place for a quick stop if local.
