Story

Fiona Gillies - Legal Practitioner Director

After graduating from the University of Queensland with a First Class Honours law degree including being awarded the University Medal and the Queensland Law Society prize, Fiona joined top tier national firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth. While at Corrs, Fiona gained experience in a wide range of areas but spent most of her time in the firm's flagship Corporate Advisory group. Fiona worked on a number of high profile initial public offerings, capital raisings as well as advising on a wide range of corporate compliance and acquisition matters with a particular focus on the conduct of large scale due diligence enquiries.

Fiona moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2000 to join her husband, John, who has a successful luxury home building business on the Coast.

The demand for a Corporate Advisory specialist being somewhat limited on the Sunshine Coast, Fiona switched her skills to general commercial and property work at Maroochydore firm, Watson & Quinn. In her 12 years at that firm, Fiona developed a significant expertise in a variety of property and commercial matters including land subdivision and unit development, retirement village establishment and operation, management rights business sales and purchases, body corporate and community management matters and commercial advice to companies and businesses.

Fiona's decision to commence her own business came about because of her desire to bring her own brand of top quality advice, responsiveness and attention to detail to her existing and future clients. She enjoys assisting clients to achieve their business and personal goals while being assured that their legal affairs are in capable hands.
