Love! Walked in here from a friends recommendation, all the spices and teas smell amazing, love how they come with suggested recipes and self serve amounts so you can get just as much as you need. Tried the tex mex spice and was excellent! Not overpowering, but by no means underwhelming. Just a casual “Hey gurl! I’m here, enjoy your burrito” Would recommend.
Found this place in one of their outlet in Melbourne few years ago and regret of not getting any but on one coincident day when I went to JB hi-fi, I walked pass the shop and the great smell of herbs caught me by accident. I live in Sydney and been working around CBD since 2012 but I only found this shop 2017 !! So so stupid of me !! Ever since than I become a regular of buying salt over there. They have herbs, teas and spices all over world mostly from India and Europe too. Love the white truffle salt and vintage merlot salt the best! The vintage merlot salt pairs perfectly with red meat, and for the white truffle salt well, I basically sprinkle it with salad, mushroom and risotto. It is the greatest taste of all !! They do have a clear description of all the selections and the staff are very professional and knowledgeable and helpful indeed. I see customers asking about herbs to use for chicken or fish and the staff will listen attentively recommend to the best type of herbs or spice. It’s worth the price to be honest even though it gets pricey on some items but it’s really worth every dollars. Loving it a lot.
What an aromatic adventure for the olfactory nerves! You are greeted with amazing smells as you walk in the shop. They have an incredible collection of herbs & spices, exotic teas, salts & gifts. A must visit if you like to pick up an off-beat gift too.
Lovely! With a great variety of..everything..and very helpful staff. I recommend you tell them what you're making, and they'll find you a suitable mix of herbs. It's very reasonably priced! I bought some Italian herbs for $2.2 per 10g. That's almost as good as buying from eBay, except you get you to smell what you're buying and ask questions.
Yet again exceptional service and great product recommendations. The tummy tea and sleep tea are both on point! Each trip to Sydney must include Gewurzhaus Spice House in The Strand.
Simply, I bought five spices and was surprised at about $90. Of course, I can understand the high quality, so I expect the taste to be significantly different from supermarket spices. I will report back after using it.
its a great place, there are a lot of species, i could found anatto for my hallacas. the place is cute but small and the people there were really nice
Visited the Strand store on the weekend with my mum and bought a bunch of spices and teas to try as a new customer. Customer service was great. I'm writing this review straight after trying the Mama's Meatball Blend and it was so good I could've eaten all the meatballs in one go. Mama Gabi knows her stuff! Can't wait to try the other spices we bought.
Love this store, always interesting spice mixes, rubs, salts, peppers and teas. Great for gifts for the chef in everyone.
