Terrible experience! The drinks service was good, but that’s where it stops. Cold/frozen spring rolls were served to my children, We waited 2+ hours for our mains to be served while we watched 3 tables with parties of 2 or 4 in an otherwise empty restaurant order, receive and eat their 3 courses. If only I could give zero stars! Will not be going back
Terrible service we waited for our food for 2 hours. A couple ahead of us left without having their dinner. No apologies or even an explanation why it took so long. When we asked how long more were told our food was just being served which took another 30 minutes to come. Table no 16 on Saturday night. Very unhappy with the service. When making payment asked why it took so long, was took very busy with Uber eats and take away. No apologies. Vegetarian options: Ordered a vegetarian curry with tofu and vegetarian tropical fried rice. Waited for 2 hours for the meal to be served
Waited for 90 minutes and only got 2 soup and drinks served. Very disappointed. Will never return. Table near us came 20 minutes after us. Finished their meal already. When our table only got served with soups. Not acceptable time management.
Order our dinner through menulog at 6.10pm which it said it would be delivered at 7.45pm. Currently 8.45 I rang the restaurant and they told me there is not much they can do because they have paying customers in the restaurant so my order isnt priority. Even though clearly I am a paying customer you already have my money my order hadn't even been cooked yet. He then says I can ask my manager if she could maybe chuck in a couple extra spring rolls ‍ so unhappy with the restaurants service and the way you get spoken to when you ask where is my order after waiting 2+ hours. we finally received our order at 9pm
Definitely not authentic in any way shape or form but when your starving it will keep the worms satisfied. Just. Should probably advertise as “Thai Fusion” at best but if you’ve never actually had authentic Thai food I guess you wouldn’t know any different.
Friendly service from the staff, my entree and main course came out relatively quickly which was great after all the negative feedback I had read prior to coming to George's Thai. The food was very good, my entree king prawn soup was delicious with a nice bit of spice to it as requested. I had the seafood with veg and rice noodles for the main which came in a generous large serve. I would definitely return and I recommend dining here.
Long wait time. Took over an hour waiting for takeaway. Lady at the counter was nice. Pitty the food tasted like cardboard as well.
Waiting time was way beyond a joke. Thursday night, not busy. One other table of four as well as two tables of two. Otherwise the restaurant was empty. One of the couples left before being served their meal as they were tired of waiting. We waited over an hour and a half before our entree arrived. I began to wonder if the chef was out catching the fish for the Thai fish cakes, or perhaps lopping the head off a chicken that then required plucking & butchering prior to being added to the curry. The waitress whose name escapes me at the moment, was fine. She took and delivered our drinks order quickly, and took our meal order as she delivered the drinks. The food, when it finally arrived was fine but could not overcome the atrocious waiting time. I honestly think this is the only 1 star review I have ever given.
We throughly enjoyed our authentic Thai meal. Customer service was second to none. Chef made the time to explain our choices to ensure we were happy. I would recommend to locals or those passing through Mackay. We will be back before we leave! Thank you for a memorable experience.10/10
Ordered online takeaway...when i arrived i was told the order hadn't gone through so I ordered again and paid again ...I was told it would be 20 mins waiting time ...was more like 40 mins ...not many in restaurant and not many coming to pick up take away while I was waiting....so I don't see why it took that long...also I ordered 6 dim sims then was told they had only three so I was given spring rolls instead. Then on picking up the order apologies were given for the wait and was told they had to do 16 banquets...but I didn't see any people in restaurant so ??? ....when we ate 5 min later the dim sits were cold .. the other food was warm not hot ...the stir fry with oyster sauce was very salty...for the prices charged it was a below standard meal and I won't be going back there.
