The nurses at Genisis Care are wonderful but shame about the receptionists and the Dr treating my mum. They showed no empathy or compassion and truly treated my mum as a number. My mum was basically told she was lucky to still be alive. 6 weeks later she passed. Not even a phone call from the doctor to send condolences. They really did not know how to give the care and respect patients and families deserve when loved ones are battling a terminal illness. Go somewhere else!

Dr. Victoria Pechey exhibited one of the most unprofessional and discourteous behaviors I have ever encountered. I had scheduled an appointment with her,Upon inviting me into her consultation room, she proceeded to engage in a lengthy phone conversation, demonstrating neither empathy nor sympathy toward me.nnDr. Victoria Pechey's unprofessionalism extended beyond her lack of courtesy during the consultation. After telling me she would leave my prescription at reception, she entirely forgot to do so, depriving me of essential medication. This oversight, combined with her earlier indifference, exemplified a glaring disregard for basic professional standards, making the entire experience both frustrating and deeply disappointing.
I had a really positive experience at Genesis.nI was at patient at RNSH and can only describe that as dreadful to the point of negligent.nMy GP contacted Genesis and I was immediately examined, tested and treated.n7 months later I was in remission.nThe staff were amazing and I felt among friends with them.nI could not speak more highly of Dr Pechey and the team.nBrian
Used to be great as Northern Cancer Institute with all the super helpful staff. Sadly went to the dogs once taken over by Genesis when they came in and put all their corporate systems and processes over everything. Now lost test results, lost or forgotten scripts, 15 minutes plus just to answer the phone, and I'm sure all the staff moral and passion they showed for their work is out the window due to all the frustration. It's really noticeable for the reduced patient experience. Nothing against the patient facing staff who are doing their best.
