Beautifully designed gelato shop with a warm and welcoming vibe!nnThe interior is clean, spacious, and decorated in warm tones that make you feel right at home. Conveniently located on Glenferrie Road, just a short walk from the Malvern tram depot — super easy to get to!nnMessina has an excellent reputation, and it definitely lives up to the hype. Tons of gelato flavors to choose from, and every one I tried was rich and delicious. The staff are friendly, smiley, and happy to help.nnIf you’re in the area, don’t miss this place. Highly recommended!
Very disappointed tonight. We come here every week, sometimes multiple times per week and this is the worst experience we had so far.nnThe minute we entered the place, we noticed a bad smell inside the place, followed by a terrible welcome from the staff, no smiles, no enthusiasm, almost a rude attitude. The staff does not seem to be enjoying serving customers. Sadly it reflects on the general atmosphere of the place.nnThe gelato counter looked like it had not been cleaned all day and the place wasn’t even busy when we were there. Please be mindful of possible cross contamination with such poor hygiene even found hair on the counter. It was the only time I have seen the place so dirty, hence my review to raise awareness and concern.nnI am disappointed by my experience lately, even the gelato scoops are not consistent in size. We always are so excited about getting gelato at Messina, but we have felt quite dissatisfied the last few weeks.nnThe staff makes such a big difference in our experience at Messina. Hoping this will help to avoid further dissatisfaction.nnCheers
I am so happy that i decided to try them out today. They've been pretty much 23 years in the business, so they know what they're doing! LolnI tried boysenberry, strawberries, and cream and black velvet. My most favourite flavour was the black velve. The amalgamation of cheese and black velvet cake has been on my mind since. It'll be the reason for me to go there again.nThey are located on the main strip of Malvern. The store is noticeable because of their coloured pattern logo. I noticed people taking the gelati tubs, which were beautifully placed in their signature boxes.nAs usual, there was a line of people looking forward to trying the flavours. So come along and join the line too.
I had an amazing experience at Messina Ice Cream! Lucina was so sweet and welcoming—her warm hospitality made the visit even better. She surprised us with biscuit she baked herself, which was such a thoughtful touch. The ice cream itself was absolutely delicious and lived up to its great reputation. A big thank you to Lucina and the team for making our visit special. Highly recommend this place for both the ice cream and the incredible service!
