The first on my Melbourne bookmarks. Located in the quirky Fitzroy, the place is actually pretty big for an ice cream place. I had the salted caramel server recommendation and strawberry cream on a cup. It was super yum! I still can taste the salted caramel and chunks of white chocolate in my mouth! With the strawberry cream balanced the sweetness, it’s a perfect combo. Had a little bit of coconut one from my friend’s cup, which didn’t suit my palate. Recommended and definitely will revisit!
ORDERED:   1 scoop of Pistachio praline in a cup $6.30 REVIEW: Messina is one of the best gelato chains around. Their icecream is deliciously creamy. The pistachio praline has a nutty, slightly minty flavour with crunchy caramelised sweetness that's addictive. I think they do the best rendition of pistachio around, so definitely one to keep an eye on and try.
My favourite gelatery of all time, and you can easily spot them at different locations across Melbourne! Love their classic gelato flavours which are not so classic, and are consistently tasty. They also combine flavours such as panna cotta fig & amaretto biscuits and yogurt and carmel, as well as serving you exotic flavours from all over the world such as pandan or lychee with coconut! To add to this excitement, they have weekly specials where for example, they fuse a bunch of diff ingredients to create an amazing flavour or just make your favourite food into icecream form! My favourites are: - afternoon tea at nonna’s: ricotta cheesecake gelato, fig jam, buttery biscuit crumble - dulce de - you make me unicorny: 100s & 1000s and poundcake - fairy bread: 100s & 1000s and toast and butter gelato - double or nothing / get baked: baked cheesecake gelato with dulce de leche & toppings - milk tea gelato specials - tiramisu To be honest, everything is good and no wonder it’s such a popular fun spot to return to!
I love the gelato, it’s creamy, luscious, beautiful combination of flavours. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The gelato I’ve eaten. Please open a store in Singapore share the love!
It is the best gelato shop in Melbourne for sure. Also I visited Italy and many other countries before, but I can say it was the best Ive ever had! I had chocolate fondant and black velvet! Yumm!!
The beat Gelato around Melbourne, the gelato giving a relaxing vibe, people just come here to Chill and enjoying the gelato. They have some flavour that i don’t commonly elsewhere, had the matcha flavour, taste rich but not overly sweet. And the other one are chocolate but so rice and tasty!
Favourite Gelati place in Melbourne, because the flavours are amazing and special every time. Try the specials and be prepared to be wowed. Really friendly staff too. Favourites: pandan and coconut, mango, bounty, coconut and lychee.
Walked 25 minutes under the rain to get from CBD to Fitzroy, totally worth it. Amazing place and friendly staff. The icecream is unbelievable. Loved the Super dulce de leche.
One of the busiest Messina’s around but one of the best gelato places in Melbourne. Love the Pannacotta fig, amaretti gelato. Weekly flavours are a must try too. Worth the visit!
