Super cute cafe with unbelievable sweet treats. Very friendly staff. I had a white chocolate raspberry muffin and mocha! Both were great. Perfect stop on the way to the Giant's house.
Stopped off to use the facilities and a bite to eat. Tables outside are a bit basic but there is a back section which would be nice with more tables/ umbrellas maybe a garden with a fountain and some of those gnomes everyone loves so much...... . Nice enough ambience inside. Very soliticious staff, happy to help. Not overly busy but a steady stream of people heading to and from Christchurch/ Akaroa/ Diamond Harbour. Reasonably priced food and a pot of Earl Grey tea enough for 2. Nice place . Last time I was here it was the Black Tulip ?. Parking too.
The Bunny Cakes were just amazing. Enough to share and then have one to take home. Hubby loved his eggs bene as well. Coffee was delicious! Highly recommend a drive out to experience the food. Be aware they currently only serving brekkie Fri/Sat and Sunday.
Amazing iced choc, huge loaded fries and the best pies. A cute little cafe that’s well worth a visit.
Great experience with family. Awesome location and delicious food too. Every bit was enjoyable. Kid-friendliness: Open air seating and animals around to keep the kids busy.
Nice day ride out here from Chch over the hills, was not expecting the BEST PIE IN NZ. Yep, the best. Better than Fairlie pie, and I e had a lot of them, and every pie I've had exploring every corner of NZ from Northland to Southland. It's called Pork Pie because it's a pie, with pork in it, but not like the british style porkpie - comes with sides of gravy, cooked apples, and plenty crackling, amazing pastry and filling, glazed & with sesame seeds. Perfect. I'll be coming over here more often to chill in the nice garden too! Service and deserts good too. Thanks White Rabbit!
I went with high hopes given history of very good reviews... unfortunately we came away very disappointed . The staff were friendly, there was a steady stream of customers coming in, and others in my group tell me their coffee was good. one lady serving behind the counter appeared to be new?and had issues with the till which caused delays in service. In my opinion the food looked much better than it tasted, the chicken pie was very dry and the buttermilk chicken burger average at best. the small outdoor garden area has potential but for me is not appealing as is.
LOVED absolutely everything about this place! We both had the chicken waffles with chilli honey, delicious. Perfect coffees nice and strong. The rustic and themed set up was great too. Honestly cant say enough good things about this place. I give you guys the five stars that I can plus more! Thanks, will be back.
What a cool country cafe this is! Fabulous outdoor area with sun, shade and lots of greenery. Good size lawn for the kids to play on hula hoop and balls provided. Clean bathrooms, excellent range of drinks and lovely homemade food. Cosy indoor setting with fireplace for winter. The service was friendly and efficient. Gorgeous area for a cruisy family lunch. Even has a cool pink ambulance out the back!
On Labour Day we drove through hoping to buy some lunch here. After waiting quite a while we were informed by a miserable woman that the kitchen was closed. Only on our exit did we notice the post-card sized sign saying "kitchen closed". Owners, how about putting the sign up so people can clearing see this upon entering your cafe so they don't have to experience your miserable staff and then see the puny sign on exit? We certainly will not be coming back. Customer service does matter to customers at least.
