Before encountering this situation, I genuinely enjoyed helping others. Within my capacity, I regularly helped wildlife and donated blood. However, after this incident, I began to feel extremely repulsed. Since when did donating become something that requires coercion and fraudulent behavior to lure people into contributing?nnThat day, I was walking down the street when a woman stopped me and asked what kind of cookies I was holding. At first, I thought she was just curious about my cookies, so I paused to chat with her. I started by telling her that I didn’t have much time, but then she began talking about donations to help children and the elderly, which I was genuinely interested in. However, I reiterated that I didn’t have much time. She said she understood and promised not to take up much of my time. Then she started explaining everything in detail, which took even more time. For the third time, I told her I really didn’t have time. I asked if there was a brochure I could take with me. She said they didn’t have any paper copies but could send it to me digitally, and all I had to do was enter my information. Once I entered my details, she asked me to sign, and it was then I realized that she wasn’t just giving me information but wanted me to donate immediately.nnI explained that I needed time to think, to fully understand the situation, and to discuss it with my partner before making a decision. But she kept trying to lead me toward signing, which made me extremely uncomfortable. In the end, I became upset and flat-out refused. After my firm rejection, I noticed her expression instantly change, showing obvious disdain and annoyance. Since that day, I’ve felt a strong aversion to passing by that place and have started to question my willingness to help others.nnI’m not against promoting ways to help people, but there shouldn’t be coercion or deception involved in convincing someone to donate. It should be done out of one's free will. If I’ve already said that now isn’t the right time, why keep pushing me to donate? This makes me feel like it’s not about helping others anymore, but rather about scamming me.
Very nice shopping center, has all the main shops you need. It is kept very clean. It’s great how it has a little place across woolies with table and chairs to have some food! It would be great to have some sanitising wipes installed here though, please!nAlso great how it has couches if you want to have a seat and how it has the ‘tap and rides’ for kids!
Great spacious centre. All the shops you need.nThe food hall has a good range. Packing is easy.nThere are plenty of support shops in the area.nGo give it a try
The Gateway Shopping Centre at Palmerstone, Northern Territory is a very nice place to shop. It has a supermarket for all your needs. It has Best and Less and many small specialty shops. The food court has a good variety of foods to choose from. The facilities are clean - such as toilets and there is alway good parking. A great place to meet up with friends. Apparently there is a Cinema and a Gym upstairs however I did not go upstairs. There is undercover parking as well. I highly recommend the Gateway, Palmerstone is you want carefree shopping.
