We headed here for the farmers market recently. It had been years since my last visit, and back then I used to come regularly with my wife and kids.nnThose were the days when the two storey red building was a bookstore, with authors often there signing children’s books. It felt vibrant, welcoming, and genuinely good value.nnSadly, those days seem long gone. Much of what made the precinct special has disappeared. Many stallholders now price their products as though you need to pay in gold, with several items lacking price tags altogether. If you have to ask, you probably cannot afford it.nnAfter spending $71 on just a couple of tasteless pies and two cakes for lunch, we then needed to find the bathrooms for the kids.nnThat turned into a mission. There was no clear signage, doors that previously led to the facilities were locked, and it felt as though market visitors were not particularly welcome to use them.nnWill I return? Unfortunately not. There are far better farmers markets across Melbourne where pricing is transparent and the atmosphere feels more inviting.nnOn the same day we visited four markets including South Melbourne, Queen Victoria, and Prahran. This was by far the most disappointing experience of the lot.

nnA lovely art gallery cum park that also hosts theatre, I stumbled upon this place on a weekend. It was a good decision, since there was hardly any public around except for the staff, so it was a peaceful. The 2 galleries held a small but lovely collection of artworks by various local artists, most of which were up for sale as well.nnA piano is placed in a lovely spot, which I liked quite a bit. And the gate to this place, is beautiful. There are some studios where sculpture and similar arts are taught, which were closed on Saturday. Great green park, with some people just hanging out, playing with their dogs.nnIt's a lovely place to visit. Also, there's no entry fee!

I used to walk through this park when i was in high school. Every Monday to Friday.  From 1996-2001. There used to be 2 little ponds, but they have dried out unfortunately. From sculptures to playground for little kids. Good for dog walking, or playing sport with friends or family.

Fantastic newly landscaped park. BBQs great children's play space. Shadey walks. Grass for picnic. Arts precinct and theatre. Toilets. Water on tap. OFFLEAD dog park
