Went there for a drink with some bar snacks, the quality of the food is average, duck liver was nice. They have happy hours between 4:30 to 6pm, half price drinks some, not all and bar snacks. The bar snack is bit pricy if not half priced. It is nice place for having a drink after work and staff are friendly.
Went for dinner with the husband. Would have been 5 stars if we had received our complimentary bread. It wouldn't be such an issue if I hadn't tried to order bread and then been assured that we would receive bread and made a big deal about it being complimentary. It was also listed on our receipt granted for $0 but if you're going to make such a thing about your complimentary bread it's best to make sure people get it. The table next to us ended up asking for theirs but by the time I realised we weren't getting ours they'd served our mains and I didn't want the bread anymore. Given the high level of service and attention to detail in every other aspect it was disappointing that none of the staff noticed and rectified the issue. It looked like really really good bread too The food was good but I'd like the potatoes to be a bit more crispy. We had the saltimbocca and the pork ragu and I would recommend both.
Meal started off good with the sourdough which was a nice touch given we were all pretty hungry on arrival. Ordered the duck liver pate as an appetiser, which was really good! The wait for mains after was around 30 minutes. Ordered the cacio e pepe $24 and clam and crab tagliolini $28. Portions were extremely small for the price and pasta was done slightly under al dente and there wasn’t any crab in the tagliolini at all either. Clams were underdone and most of all, the pasta was bland and disappointing. One of us had been here before and highly recommended this place to visit. She commented that it never used to taste this bland. Informed the staff of this in case it was a genuine mistake on the restaurant’s part and were asked if we wanted to order more food instead. No real care for our feedback and no efforts made to clarify the situation. Waited another 35 minutes for our dessert even though this was ordered at the start of the meal. Tiramisu $18 was alright but the mille feuille $16 was dry and the ratio of cream to pastry was poor. Huge waste of money. Waited another 15 minutes and had to ask staff twice for the bill. Extremely disappointing. Definitely would not recommend for a nice dinner out.
Being a foodie from Melbourne I’m fussy. This establishment is First class, we ate here five times over four days for brekky, lunch, room service and dinner. On every occasion the food was delicious, staff attentive and vibe buzzing. We had the octopus, duck, pate, scallops, quail and ox tail to name a few. Plus the poached eggs in the morning were perfect, the pumpkin soup divine and that salad insalata OMG I know it’s just cos lettuce but it tasted like they’d gone out into the garden and picked it just for me, it was so fresh just superb. Worth the price highly recommend.
Lovely ambience, great tasting food and friendly, helpful and professional staff. Will come here again with the family. Oh! And the semifreddo was delicious!
Food is delicious and staff is very friendly. I’d only have to say that some portions seem too small. It just depends on what you order. And we waited for our food for quite a while. Also, the room is a bit noisy, which is not very suitable if you want to have a romantic or a business dinner. Overall, I’d say that it’s a nice place and worth a visit.
Fantastic experience. Staff were wonderful and the food delicious. Being italian I normally find italian resturants food not quite right or what I expect, not here, It was dead on balls what I like and expected. Lovely building. Will go again for sure.
Don’t forget to order GARUM WINES. Nice setting place, dinner was great. Octopus was very tasty and tender. The quail was one of my favorites - great marination and right level of roasting, juicy inside and crispy skin. “Cacio e pepe” didn’t take picture of this pasta dish was amazing - so simple ingredients = taste of real Italian food! Crab pasta was good - right hint of chili was very refreshing. Tiny disappointment with the fish as it was overly salted, like they were salted twice by the accident or something. So we return it to the kitchen as I could not have it. Overall experience still great there are other dishes we still want to try - great menu options.
Beautiful setting but very intimate with other guests, could hear their conversations more than our own. Food was sensational, a must try! We did get someone else's food at one point and ours kept going to the table next to us; staff probably need to learn the table numbers but cannot fault the food and the lady that took our orders.
The weekend breakfast buffet was amazing! The spread, quality of food was terrific. And the staff were super quick and responsive. It made my Saturday morning - truly! I was also amazed by the quality of the Franke commercial coffee maker - the coffee was really good and shocked it was made by machine. Whoever calibrated the machine with the coffee beans gets a medal!
